John & Patty's Great Adventures: July 2011
http://johnandpattysadventure.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
John and Pattys Great Adventures. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Animas Forks 4WD Trip. Yesterday we took a Jeep trip to the ghost town of Animas Forks. The road to Animas Forks is one of the mlidest four-wheel drive roads around here. The photos below were taken along the way. The houses in Animas Forks were built in the 1900-1910 era by people who worked the booming mines and mills in the Silverton area. They are remarkably well preserved considering the severity of the winters up here. The solar system tha...

John & Patty's Great Adventures: Local Vendors
http://johnandpattysadventure.blogspot.com/2011/07/local-vendors.html
John and Pattys Great Adventures. Saturday, July 9, 2011. There are some very interesting locals selling jewelry, food, etc in the parking area on the east side of the highway 64 gorge bridge about 7 miles west of Taos. We bought a few things such as dried apple slices, cinnamon almonds, a necklace and a blown glass pendant. The glass pieces were being sold by the rather interesting fellow in the photo below and were made by his sister. Local Sales Outlet for Sara Chatfield Glass. Here's the evidence -.

The Caprons: December 2014
http://thecaprons.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thanksgiving in Waco with the Caprons. The family took over and made Thanksgiving dinner and other meals for us. They also managed to be sweet about having to listen to my coughing all week long. I haven't been that sick in a very long time. It was a good exercise for me in not being able to always have control in a situation! Now on to the fun stuff. I still managed to take some pictures of the different things we did together! The boys and dads went to a rainy Baylor game. They had a great time!

For the past 3 summers, our kids have done swim lessons at the YMCA. We have loved having various friends in the same classes with us each year. It is just so special to have these memories with friends and to see how our kids have grown from year to year! Abby enjoyed swim lessons, but she is still quite nervous about putting her face in the water. I can see that swim lessons helped her some, but she and Jon have some work to do over the rest of the summer! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Caprons: June 2014

This and That in June. VBS 2014: We were thrilled to have the Sieverts join us in Waco for our church's VBS this year. Luke and Abby are taking a gymnastics class this summer. They both had a great time on the first day of class, and I was happy that Luke gladly participated in each activity. Some Yellow Crowned Night Herons made a nest in a tree in our front yard. Our picture is not great, but these three baby birds were huge and messy! Links to this post. Caleb's Last Days of First Grade!

Caleb is officially 8 years old! We celebrated with cake and presents on his actual birthday. His big present was a robot that is controlled by a coding program on the iPad. You can see from the kids' faces that Dash is a big hit! Caleb also got the game Ticket to Ride. Even Abby and Luke were super pumped about the party. I love that they are all holding hands in this picture! The party had a camping theme, so we had to include s'mores by the campfire and sleeping in a tent. We love our Caleb boy!

Luke's First Day of Preschool Four! Luke had a great start to preschool last week. He will be going four days a week, and his teacher is Mrs. Davis. He has several buddies in his class including Knox, Caroline, and a new friend named Joshua. Luke's favorite part of preschool so far is going to the gym. He has been smiley and happy to go each morning, and that makes me so happy too! Links to this post. Boats, Boys, and Beaches. Cousin Bed Rocking the Turtle Goggles. Links to this post. Our little Luke is four years old! He loves "all of the sports" and wears Baylor shirts as often as I will let him, so we celebrated with a Baylor sports party! Luke got a hockey set and a soccer goal from Jon and me. We took a quick trip to Albuquerque to celebrate our birthdays with the Paces and Sieverts. I only took a couple of pictures, but Luke and I loved our BU cake that Michael and Tiffany made for us! Links to this post. May 2015 Photo Drop. First the kids had their Awana Award Program.

Abby turned six and had a fun Frozen birthday party! We ate yummy frozen birthday food, made necklaces, built cup castles, rescued the palace jewels that were stuck in ice, painted finger nails, and decorated mitten and shoe cookies. Abby enjoyed having friends from school and church at the party. I love seeing her playing with her new and old friends! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Caleb is . . . Abby is . . . We've had a busy semester so far. Here is some of the things that we have been up to:. The second graders at Spring Valley did a Dr. Seuss music performance. Caleb and his friend Caleb McCarver smile for my camera. On her actual birthday, Abby opened up some presents from Jon and me. She got a Frozen Lego set and bin full of markers and paper. Uncle Mike, Aunt Tiffany, and Ben came to visit. We spent the weekend cooking, shopping, and wrestling with Uncle Mike. He is such a handsome boy!
