Hello Again, Sydney: August 2006
http://backtosydney.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Hello Again, Sydney. One Sydney-sider's experiences moving back to Sydney after a long absence overseas. Thursday, August 31, 2006. I think the anecdote I trotted out most when overseas, to describe Australians, was the one about the survey they did here on the republic. Australians' three main concerns were:. Would we be still be able to compete in the Commonwealth Games? Would we still get the Queen's birthday as a public holiday? I can't remember the last one. Stay tuned for the Don Bradman novella.

Fiddling with Fibre: March 2011
http://fiddlingwithfibre.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Playing with all kinds of fabrics, textiles and textile art. Thursday, March 17, 2011. My dear wife Joan has left us. She battled the beast for over a year and died on February 25th, 2011. She is sorely missed by me and her offspring, Helen and Martin. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Karen Cheng's Snippets of Life.

Fiddling with Fibre: Another Christmas Party
http://fiddlingwithfibre.blogspot.com/2010/12/another-christmas-party.html
Playing with all kinds of fabrics, textiles and textile art. Thursday, December 16, 2010. This one was Secret Drawer, my friendship sewing group that was started 22 years ago. Members have come and gone, but there are still two originals - Mary and me. Unfortunately Mary could not come yesterday. She had heart stents inserted last week and thought she should wait for an all-clear from her doctor before venturing out. I had a lovely time - pity the photo is out of focus. Fiddling with Fibre: Binging on books
http://fiddlingwithfibre.blogspot.com/2011/01/binging-on-books.html
Playing with all kinds of fabrics, textiles and textile art. Monday, January 10, 2011. I have been very slack about stitching - the only time I have been into the sewing room for months has been to do some trouser shortening for Martin and some repairs for Helen and Kevin. I have been feeling so tired that if I wasn't sleeping I just wanted to sit. So I have been reading and rereading. I also read "Ape House" by Sara Gruen. I loved her first book "Water for Elephants". I was less taken by this, m...Since...

Fiddling with Fibre: September 2010
http://fiddlingwithfibre.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Playing with all kinds of fabrics, textiles and textile art. Friday, September 24, 2010. Australia Wide II exhibition. I am really chuffed - I have had one of my quilts selected for the second Australia Wide exhibition (I had two selected for the first one - but who cares! Just one is a great ego boost.). Here is a tiny peek of a bit of the detail, since I am not sure whether it is acceptable to show the whole quilt before it it is put up on the Ozquilt Network Inc. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Just Patchwork: Proof positive
http://justpatchwork.blogspot.com/2009/06/proof-positive.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. A long, long time ago I was watching a formula 1 grand prix and was inspired by David Coulthard's helmet design to make a simple blue and white wool felt quilt. After I moved to England it languished. Top and back pieced, quilt basted, and a few. Rough rows of large stitch handquilting done. Years later I tried to fit it into my suitcase on a visit back to Oz. It didn't fit. But Mum and Dad took pity on me (it? And posted the quilt to me to finish. And guess what - it is!

Just Patchwork: September 2007
http://justpatchwork.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 07, 2007. I'm back in Australia, just visiting, but it was back to the sewing machine when I saw the Kombi van fabric. From Heather Ross' Lightening Bugs. Line with Free Spirit. There's something so satisfying when you can finish an entire project, cut, pieced and quilted all in one evening. So it's only a cushion. doesn't take away from the sense of achievement :).
