Jane's Wonderland: Baptize Me Alma: HCP Tenth Day
http://janeswonderland.blogspot.com/2014/07/baptize-me-alma-hcp-tenth-day.html
Monday, July 14, 2014. Baptize Me Alma: HCP Tenth Day. The first year we were in the pageant Lily and I were in the Alma baptism scene together. Every time we came off the stage she loved touching the golden idol that was just on the edge of the stage. It was such a big deal to her that I took a picture of her standing next to it:. On Sunday we took a picture in the same location six years later:. I can't believe how much she has grown up! We also went for a nice walk to the top of the Hill Cumorah:.

Jane's Wonderland: Live After the Manner of Happiness: HCP First Day
http://janeswonderland.blogspot.com/2014/07/live-after-manner-of-happiness-hcp.html
Saturday, July 5, 2014. Live After the Manner of Happiness: HCP First Day. For those who haven’t heard my tale of woe, in my previous three years I have never received a movement part. Year 1: I was taking care of two-year-old Lily and only half-heartedly attempted the dance try-out. Year 2: I gave the dance try-out all I had but the field was covered in mud and my shoes got sucked in and, anyway, I wasn’t chosen. It was a bit disconcerting to see that several others were getting parts but we just kept c...

Jane's Wonderland: Song of Cumorah: HCP Eighteenth Day
http://janeswonderland.blogspot.com/2014/07/song-of-cumorah-hcp-eighteenth-day.html
Thursday, July 24, 2014. Song of Cumorah: HCP Eighteenth Day. The very last day of pageant? Time flew past. Pageant is a time out of time experiene where it feels like you are in a vacume. Life just goes whizzing by. Elder Runia was a member of the cast. He was recently made a member of the 5. Elder Runia reminded us that this is following Christ’s example where in 3. Nephi Christ takes the time to connect with each child—in fact with all 2,500 people. It was a hard day of goodbyes today. Before I left p...

Jane's Wonderland: Hold to the Rod: HCP Third Day
http://janeswonderland.blogspot.com/2014/07/hold-to-rod-hcp-day-three.html
Sunday, July 6, 2014. Hold to the Rod: HCP Third Day. Lily finally got to go on stage today. She has been begging to do so and wondering when the big day would arrive. There wasn't much to it today. All they did was line her up with her partner who will meet her in the Study Shelter and walk her all the way UNDER the stage (only the primary and work crew get to do this! And then act as the primary children's parents on stage. Caroline is Lily's partner. Here they are together:. Elder Bean said how import...

I am serious. And don't call me Shirley. Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Lowest point of the program. Addie and I at Cave 4 at Qumran. Here is where the largest number. Of Dead Sea Scrolls were found. A group on the tram up to Masada, a lot of little Muhlesteins in this one. Raquel (girlfriend) and I on top of Masada, overlooking the Dead Sea. Looking down Nahal David. Really helps understand the imagery described in the Book of Mormon. An Ibex, or Yael in Hebrew which is also the name of the coolest Kibbutz.

Cogito Ergo Sum: January 2010
http://mmurdoch.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 18, 2010. I’m a finance major. I think in terms of risk/reward and future potential return. A central feature in finance and economics in general is understanding tradeoffs, or what you’re willing to give up now in order to get something of greater value in the future. Finance poses questions such as, “Would you rather invest in a low-risk investment-grade bond with 5% semi-annual coupon payments or high-risk equity securities with potential returns of over 15%? Careful examination of tha...

Sunday, November 22, 2009. Laws control the lesser man. Right conduct controls the greater one." - Mark Twain. Do not underestimate the determination of a quiet man." - Duncan Smith. No man ever achieved worth-while success who did not, at one time or other, find himself with at least one foot hanging well over the brink of failure." - Napoleon Hill. The only man who never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything." - Theodore Roosevelt. And one more from Confucius: ". It's sad.but true!

For the casual Jason enthusiast. For those who want a little more in life. For all my stalkers. For when laughing just isn't enough. For those unforgettable moments. For you. Saturday, May 7, 2011. I am marrying the most beautiful girl in the world. Even though she is leaps and bounds smarter than me, I still managed to surprise her. I then told her there was another part of the gift, but it was in the trunk. Walking out of the car my heart was beating like an African drum. Popped the trunk and h...8221;...

Cogito Ergo Sum: True Happiness
http://mmurdoch.blogspot.com/2009/11/true-happiness.html
Friday, November 6, 2009. I think we’ll all agree that what each person is looking for in this life is happiness. We might articulate this desire in different ways, but when we remove different interpretations inherent in expressing a thought through language, we simply want to be happy. Happiness is a condition that can be obtained through conscious exertion to attain what we desire most. History of the Church,. I’ve pondered on this a lot recently. I don’t know that the answers to these questions...
