Ruth Climbs Kilimanjaro October 2010. Thursday, 14 October 2010. We arrived at our camp quite early and it was stunning. Shira Camp 3843m , It had an amazing view over the surrounding peaks of Kili. I was still feeling pretty rubbish so went for a wee lie down in my tent for a couple of hours before dinner and it helped a lot. I feel so blessed to be on this trip. Apart from the toilet situation, i have no complaints. Use hand sanitiser after every toilet break and before you eat anything. Look our for your buddies. Ruth Climbs Kilimanjaro October 2010. Friday, 15 October 2010. We conquered that Barranco Wall today, and we did it in style. I totally loved it, best part of the trip so far. It was nowhere near as scary as I thought it was going to be. Nice bit of climbing/scrambling action. I was quite close to the back of the group walking with Jo and Jason, getting all the goss on how Jas proposed to Jo last night. Such a sweet story, and it’s a Tiffany’s ring! The rest of the afternoon was long, really long.
