Tuesday, May 28, 2013. April 24-28, 2013 Agua Verde. We had a great sail to Agua Verde. It was 52 miles and took about 8 hours. There were hundreds of dolphins around the boat and I tried to get pictures and movies. We arrived in the southern anchorage about 5:30. The next day the wind was supposed to come from the north, so we moved to the northern anchorage. Trying out my new kayak. Pam on the SUP. Pam at the top of the climb to the Cave Paintings. Rick at the Cave Paintings. Cocktails on the beach.

Arione: August 2012
http://arione.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Yesterday afternoon in La Paz, it rained. A lot. I was outside grilling shrimp as it got darker and darker. Then it started raining, just a little at first, but in about three minutes it was pouring. Art came out and held an umbrella over my head while the shrimp finished cooking, and then we fled inside. Judging by our impromptu rain gauge (a pyrex pan left beside the barbeque), we got more than 2" in about 45 minutes. Links to this post. Spending the Summer in Mexico. To Cab...

Arione: Barrancas del Cobre - Day 4: Tamahumara
http://arione.blogspot.com/2013/03/barrancas-del-cobre-day-4-tamahumara.html
Thursday, March 14, 2013. Barrancas del Cobre - Day 4: Tamahumara. We met our tour guide, Jose, at 10:00 on Saturday morning. Gail and Murray would come with us for the first part of the day, and then Jose would take us back to the tram that Art had missed the day before. I was looking forward to getting some pictures of the canyon while the sun was shining, too. There were quite a few more conventional houses scattered around as well. Arione: Barrancas del Cobre - Last Leg
http://arione.blogspot.com/2013/03/our-bus-back-to-mazatlan-left-at-930.html
Friday, March 15, 2013. Barrancas del Cobre - Last Leg. There are a few things we will do differently if we make this trip again. Build in an extra day at Posada Barrancas. The altitude change was really noticable, and it would have been better to have a day to acclimate. We could also have gone down into the canyon from here. Go right after the rainy season. Apparently there are a lot of waterfalls - many visible from the train - if you go in November or December. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Arione: February 2013

Wednesday, February 13, 2013. El Quelite (which translates as among other things, amaranth, which we saw growing in the fields beside the road on the way up there) is a colonial town about 45 minutes northeast of Mazatlán. Our friends Cliff and Lynne on s/v Taya have recently acquired a car, and the four of us went up there for a day trip yesterday. It's a very pretty little town:. Outside of the store, we saw these guys riding by. Later, they posed for us with some friends. There's a pretty little church.
