One of France’s hidden treasures, a region of hills, mountains. Valleys, gorges, forests. Lava flows, volcanic plugs topped by castles. And churches as in Le Puy en Velay. St Bonnet

St Bonnet de Montauroux is a very peaceful village. There are no shops or services and so the tranquillity of the village is assured. Opposite the house there is a large area which can be used for parking cars. The village square. Also doubles as a boules court. The river. Is a short walk from the house and in warmer months it is possible to swim and to facilitate this there is a small beach area just below the bridge. There is a small village church.

Tunnel or ferry from Dover to Calais. Currently the region of the Auvergne is served by both Ryanair from Stansted to Rodez and Easyjet from Stansted to Lyon. Hire Cars are easy to book and reasonably priced for the onward journey to St. Bonnet de Montauroux. Rodez two hours drive and Lyon a little over the two hours.
