Meet the Maker: Chris Castro. I was introduced to Chris Castro and his wife Tricia through my sister-in-law Maggie. And interview with Chris below, and connect with Chris at The Maker’s Table Bacon Curing workshop on Thursday, August 21st. Tickets available here. Where did you learn to cook? I grew up in a household that cooked all the time. Growing up, my mom always fixed a real breakfast and we would sit down to eat, even on a school morning. So when I went to college, I was like I can’t. It seems like...

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: April 2014
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Thursday, April 24, 2014. A little bit of forever. 5 years and two kids ago, I made the best decision of my life. My writing skills are insufficient to explain how perfect Darrin is for me. It will have to suffice to say I love him with my whole heart and I'm blessed to know I have a loving Father in Heaven who led me to him and is allowing this 5 years to be just a little bit of the forever I get to spend with him. Happy Anniversary, my love! 2014 will have to wait.

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: idaho
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014/10/idaho.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Monday, October 6, 2014. After Utah, and a great family reunion on the Bronson side, we headed up to Idaho Falls to visit my family. Both my sisters made the trip too, which made the trip extra fun. The only pictures I got were when we went to Reed's Dairy, a local dairy that has an ice cream store. I know my boys loved it! Lincoln, Matthew, and Rose checking out the chickens and pigs. Bennett waving at a duck. Logan, Rose, and Matthew watching the pig.

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: November 2014
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Sunday, November 30, 2014. We went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Yay, a good picture! People kept calling him a her when we were out. Hmm.a blue monster? Logan loved all the attention and that everyone could tell he was a cowboy. He did great in his 3-sizes-too-big cowboy boots! Saturday, November 29, 2014. I've gotten really behind. Before Halloween, we carved a pumpkin. Our tradition has been to get one of the biggest pumpkins we can. Darrin as Bob Ross.

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: May 2014
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Friday, May 30, 2014. I know Easter was a while ago, but here it goes anyway. For Easter we had a lot of plans and didn't get to all of them. On Saturday we try to do the stuff that really has nothing to do with the real meaning of Easter, which turned out to be a good thing since Easter day was packed. Saturday, we did Easter baskets in the morning (fully equipped with dollar store goodies) and an Easter egg hunt-which I only took videos of. Monday, May 12, 2014.

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: January 2014
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Friday, January 31, 2014. Here are some random Spokane pictures worth blogging about. All of these are pre-Bennett. There is just something wrong about this sign.can you see what we see? It was posted by one of our favorite parks in Spokane.I'm drawing a blank. At the same park, we sent Logan chasing after a duck. Riverfront Park in Spokane. We spent a few evenings there feeding the ducks and geese. Much less aggressive than the Idaho Falls' ducks. Rewind: mom and dad.

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: July 2014
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Thursday, July 10, 2014. This boy is 1 year old! Like every mom, I'm wondering where the time went. He went from this chubby little guy. To this chubby guy! In that past month, Bennett has shown so much personality. Part of it was a two-week trip to Utah and Idaho. He was so incredibly happy there. Coming home was another story, but he's making his way back to that happy baby. I guess he just loved watching the other kids a lot. A lot. No, dah (dog), ha (hi), da (dad).

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: halloween
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014/11/halloween.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Saturday, November 29, 2014. I've gotten really behind. Before Halloween, we carved a pumpkin. Our tradition has been to get one of the biggest pumpkins we can. Logan was really into helping this year, which made it more fun! Here is his concentration face-always his tongue stuck out. We did this on a Sunday afternoon, so he's wearing his church pants, undershirt and rain boots :). Bennett sure loved his apples! Darrin as Bob Ross. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Darrin, Rachel, Logan, & Bennett: June 2014
http://rachelanddarrin.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Darrin, Rachel, Logan, and Bennett. Friday, June 13, 2014. We are just minutes away from Powell Butte. It is a short hike (although with a double stroller, it wasn't that easy pushing uphill.) up to the top, which is huge and quite beautiful. We found a lot of birds, not just this Robin :). Bennett doing what he used to do best in the stroller. Up at the top. They are working on a construction project up there and Logan was excited to see this excavator up there. We saw this family of coyotes, too. Benne...
