A family takes a trip. Monday, May 30, 2011. Upon arrival in Goreme, we searched high and low for a reasonably priced hotel, when we found one, we had lentil soup for breakfast and went to sleep. When we woke up at 2pm we went for a nice walk, had supper and then went back to bed. Photos: Hot air ballooning -a very popular activity;. Does that look like a camel to you? We ended up with tans but we were careful not to burn as we tried to stay out of the sun in the heat of the day. First Mate and Cook;.

A family takes a trip. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. While in Vilnius and Riga, Mhari and I managed to do some amber shopping. We saw some nice things and would have loved to have kept shopping for days but we got a few little treats, did a little Christmas shopping and left it at that. We have seen more amber here in Tallinn but the prices are higher than in Latvia and Lithuania. Other Baltic news or thoughts. I e-mailed from our bus to Tallinn; the buses here have wifi. Gotta love wifi on Estonian buses!

A family takes a trip. Saturday, January 29, 2011. After Ooty, en route to Mysore, we drove through The Mudulamai Nature Park and Tiger Reserve. We didn't see any tigers, but we did see about a dozen elephants. It was nice to see lots of forest and parklands with no litter. The market in Mysore was neat too. We were there last night and were impressed. However, the vendors here are a bit too used to tourists; they are persistent, annoyingly so at times. A travel day and more. I have decided to update you all about how I have been doing with my leg and life in general. I am now walking without crutches. I can bend my knee well past 90. My knee doesn't hurt so I think that's pretty good. Christmas was really fun and it is almost the new year (Yay, more parties) though that means that mom and Sam will be leaving soon (wahhh). That featured lunch by the car, an art gallery, a hotel, a cathedral, a river, an indoor market an outdoor book market, a used bookstore, a mall, 4 kebabs avec frites et boissons, and a whole pile of walking around a very picturesque old town. We spent a while in a small cabin near a town called Rouge, then 3 days in the beautiful medieval city of Tallinn. We flew to England on Ryan Air and have been here for 2 weeks hanging out with family.
