Book 'Em N.C. in 2015! I'd attended twice before deciding to get my own table. I signed up again for 2016. My table. I offered books with the old cover at a discount, but everyone wanted the newer cover even if it cost a dollar more. Here I am giving complimentary copies of "The Lunch Club" to Donald Perkins, manager of the Hampton B. Allen Library here in Wadesboro, N.C. The library is hosted a booksigning for me from 4-6 pm on August 2, 2012. Being interviewed at the HOLLA!

I was born in New York State, but due to my father's job on the Erie Railroad (later the Erie Lackawanna) our family moved frequently. I attended three different high schools in three different states in three years. In addition to writing news stories, I wrote a column for ten years called "Confessions of a Yankee Housewife" that expored the dilemma of a Yankee transplant trying to understand a new culture. Definition of a Dream. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. When enough is too much. We thought we had dodged the bullet as far as winter weather was concerned. But last night we got a taste of what everyone up north and out west has been suffering, but instead of snow we got freezing rain and sleet. (Jim swears there was a little snow in the mix.). A little snow and ice gives us a fairyland of glitter and awe. Too much, and it's a catastrophe. I think I join millions of others in wishing for an early spring.

Definition of a Dream. Wednesday, January 21, 2015. I worked on a newsletter today and I am about ready to go put my feet up. Years ago, when I was doing newsletters for some organizations I belonged to (and still belong to some) I did them in Adobe PageMaker and then printed them out and mailed them. I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I finally learned how to set up a data base and print out the address labels. Old dogs can learn new tricks, it just takes us longer.
