First!

Dave Jacoby is writing on the Svbtle. January 28, 2014. This is my first post with Svbtle. We’ll see how it goes. I have several existing blogging platforms. I have a Tumblr Sans Direction. Which right now is a hodge-podge of things shared to it, namely Instagram and Fitocracy. I have four Blogger accounts Sans Direction. Where I talk about making music (and I rarely do that); /var/log/rant. Which is a direct dump of my public-facing Google Plus posts. To be able to be able to put code samples in.

The Fillmore Five Project: April 2010
http://fillmorefive.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
April 26, 2010. I'm not a great believer in most mumbo-jumbo, but I think I had my first experience of being around a muse over the past week. The Muse, or M for short, is the daughter. It wasn't the first time I'd met her. That was last year, close to midnight on Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras, baby. New Orleans. Strangely, it was the same time I'd been given my 'lucky' transit token. That story is here. Maybe I should start a PayPal fund. Posted by Ken Skinner. April 16, 2010. If I Didn't Need Them. It's demo...

The Fillmore Five Project: Gratuitous Short Post
http://fillmorefive.blogspot.com/2010/08/gratuitous-short-post.html
August 24, 2010. Looks like my birthday pressie's going to lend a new "heavy metal" sound in my songs. no, not that. Kind of heavy metal! Col, if you're out there, thanks for helping Tim out with this ;). Posted by Ken Skinner. Never myself liked resonators - probably as I cant play the style they need. My son has looked at getting one but he cant justify it and given he is mostly learning Slipknot this summer Im not sure it fits with that genre really :-). August 26, 2010 at 5:15 PM. The Fillmore Five Project: If I Didn't Need Them...

April 16, 2010. If I Didn't Need Them. I'd take 'em out. Ironically, despite being in both eyes, this isn't as bad as when I kept getting an infection in my left eye. This is annoying and uncomfortable, but not debilitating. I even went to the gym last night! As usual, I just have to get on with it and hope that it clears up sooner rather than later. It's a contractor's lot. No sick pay means I can't be sick. even when I am. Posted by Ken Skinner. April 17, 2010 at 11:43 AM. April 17, 2010 at 11:49 AM.

The Fillmore Five Project: August 2009
http://fillmorefive.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
August 21, 2009. This is a photo of the coffee I made myself after Auntie Beeb had left the building. Some people go for really intricate, clever patterns when they do so-called "Latte Art". Me? I prefer the more entropic approach. hiss, slosh, see what happens. I like to think that the coffees I pour somehow capture the essence of the universe, or at least a fragment of it. What happened, eh? Then onto the interview, which was a range of questions loosely based on what we'd discussed in our original cha...

The Fillmore Five Project: March 2010
http://fillmorefive.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
March 31, 2010. Guitar Players Vs Musicians. Last night I braved the unseasonably crap weather to check out the blues jam at a local pub. It's one I've been to before and the standard of musicianship is usually pretty high. Tonight was no exception. mostly. Halfway through the evening a young man made his way to the front, joining the motley crew of musos already inhabiting the space. He looked nervous. Perhaps it was his first time. It really drove home to me two things. First off, unless it's a I-I...

The Fillmore Five Project: December 2009
http://fillmorefive.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
December 18, 2009. Those of you in London know. KNOW. that it's BLOODY FREEZING here right now. As I was walking home from The Stabilisers gig last night, driving snow burning every exposed appendage, I realised that I've not really indulged in an Allmans kick this year. Usually, as soon as the weather turns a bit nippy I break out all my old records (okay, okay, mp3's) and I re-acquaint myself with The Good Stuff. It's almost Christmas, I guess I've been snowed under. Posted by Ken Skinner. More accurat...

My reasoned, well-considered thoughts on gadgets, computing, quantified self, health, open source and whatever else gets my dander up. The Fillmore Five Project: July 2009
http://fillmorefive.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
July 31, 2009. What's The Frequency, Kenneth? Right then, what's going on here? I keep asking myself that question and keep coming up empty. "The Project" was the driving force behind me getting out there, playing with other people, getting in a band, the whole nine yard, and, AND, if I don't finish off this sentence sooner or later I'm going to. Okay, so the other day Tim said something to me which I took issue with, though, on reflection, there was a core of truth to it. Especially if it's justified].
