Craft, life and everything in between. So after yesterdays post that actual sewing must wait until after my dissertation is written – I have completely ignored that and instead spent yesterday evening trying to salvage Simplicity 1998. This is a dress I made to my size however it is more like a sack – a problem other sewists have found with this pattern, see reviews here. Which I’m going to try. A sense of purpose. So having wanted to start a blog about lots of different things – I have decided tha...

Craft, life and everything in between. A sense of purpose. So having wanted to start a blog about lots of different things – I have decided that the scratch I need to itch (blog-wise) or is that – itch I need to scratch? Anyway, sewing is my greatest passion and makes me tingly all over! I have also been inspired by a number of other amazing sewing blogs – (links will appear shortly) and wanted to contribute in some way to the sewing blog world. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. A bit of a meh Airelle | Stitch and Witter
https://stitchandwitter.com/2014/03/23/a-bit-of-a-meh-airelle
A blog about sewing and that…. Skip to primary content. Stuff I’ve made. Tutes ‘n’ tips. A bit of a meh Airelle. March 23, 2014. Hello campers how are you all on this sunny but quixotic Sunday? Airelle by Deer and Doe. Is one of those patterns that I’ve lusted after for a while. Just look at these by Rachel. And Made by 6. Yet this blouse isn’t right for me. It’s just… I don’t know… maybe draining me of colour or something? Any suggestions as to what changes I could make, to make it worth another shot?
Elspeth Evans: My Ultimate Breadmaker Wholemeal Wholewheat Bread Recipe!
http://elspethevans.blogspot.com/2012/11/my-ultimate-breadmaker-wholemeal-bread.html
Thursday, 29 November 2012. My Ultimate Breadmaker Wholemeal Wholewheat Bread Recipe! A perfect wholemeal (whole wheat) loaf for me is a bread that is well risen and light. Good for sandwiches but also makes toast which is crispy, crunchy on the outside and a little bit soft in the middle. Toasting qualities are important as I make it mainly for use at breakfast in the guest house. It has produced a perfect loaf every time! So here it is, my ultimate wholemeal bread recipe for use in a breadmaker! Add th...

Sewing in Surf City
Sewing in Surf City. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. July is "dresses" month for the Stashbusting Challenge. I made a matching top and skirt my July Burda Challenge. If I wear them together, an innocent observer might think they were a dress. But I wanted to sew something that was really on theme, so here is the real deal. This is the wave dress from the May, 2012 issue of Burdastyle (dress #107c). My version, in blues. Burda's version, more luminous than mine. I liked this pattern when it first came out but I...

Wednesday, November 02, 2011. This is now OOP McCalls 5764, view B. A very quick and easy project that I modified slightly by adding a lining. The cape itself is camel camelhair from fabricmart, and the lining this fantastic orange Italian china silk, also from fabricmart. I interlined the lining with some cotton flannel I had lying around for extra warmth. I'm glad I did since its been a bit nippy recently in NY (and thats not even counting the freak snowstorm we had last saturday! The only alteration I...

Envoyer à un ami. Sewing in the City. Sewing in the city. This is the end. Posté par By Gabs.

We partied on Saturday night at the Federal Hotel, drinking her favourite cocktails some of them not quite the right recipe, but we drank them anyway, we didn't send them back like she would have and we laughed about it. Melinda was one of a kind and we were all blessed to have been her friend. We miss you Melinda! My prayer is that through God's grace and love I will see you again one day. Have you ev...
