Sewing in the Purple Room

Sewing in the Purple Room. Saturday, March 14, 2009. Originally uploaded by sewinginthepurpleroom. Here's my first block from my "Bee Inspired" swap. Rachel sent this awesome fabric from Pat Sloan called "Nikki", and requested pinwheels. I have never made pinwheels before, so it was fun to learn a new technique. Thankfully, I made a practice block before I cut into Rachel's fabrics, because I messed up horribly! I hope she likes it! Thursday, February 26, 2009. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. This quilt has ...

Sewing in the Purple Room: January 2009

http://sewinginthepurpleroom.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Sewing in the Purple Room. Monday, January 26, 2009. These beauties arrived on my doorstep the other day. Bee Square Fabrics. Was having a sale, and I couldn't pass them up. The designer is Heather Bailey, and the fabrics are Peonies, and Pop Daisey. Love them! Sunday, January 25, 2009. Today I finished the quilt top for my Crazy Eight's scrap quilt. It came together pretty quickly! It measures 37X44. I think it will be the perfect lap quilt. I need to decide what color to back it with? He had it all put...

It's already getting some use! That's me, curled up on the couch, hiding from the camera. I am so proud of you!

Sewing in the Purple Room: February 2009

http://sewinginthepurpleroom.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Sewing in the Purple Room. Thursday, February 26, 2009. I have been wanting to make a "gray" quilt for sometime now. At my local quilt shop, I saw these beautiful fabrics called "Botanical Pop" on clearance and I knew I had to have them! I bought 6 prints, one yard of each, and when I returned home, noticed that I already had 2 fat quarters of the same line. These fats are shown on both ends of the picture. How's that for meant to be? Quilters.any suggestions on what pattern to use? Here are pictures of ...

Here is Wesley just jumping off the back, he tried the slide earlier and loved it the first time daddy caught him but the second time he went under the water a little further than he was use to and didn't want to...

One party on his actual birthday and the large family party. So here are some picutres from the first party. I will post the other party later. Here is a birthday cake that me and the boys baked for Wes. Colin helped with making the batter and Conner helped with decorating. I thought it turned out lovely. We made cut o...

Sewing in the shade

Sewing in the shade. Sunday, August 9, 2015. I am a little bored with plain t-shirts so I decided to make a few changes to a pattern that I know fits well. I used two fabrics, the laguna knit. And a slightly fuzzy rayon knit from my stash to make this shirt. Using the plantain pattern. I attached the strip to the front halves of the shirt. I decided to do the same operation on the sleeves, but make gathers instead of tucks. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. My second attempt is the Papercut Sway dress. Of the P...
