Friday, May 29, 2009. I'm especially looking forward to re-reading this one! 160;Harold Bloom says of it:  ".we all have particular favorites, in literature as in life, and I take more unmixed pleasure from Love's Labour's Lost than from any other Shakespearean play."  . 160;That's some amazing praise from the man who wrote the book on the bard: "Shakespeare, the Invention of the Human."  . Shakespeare a la Sexon

Shakespeare a la Sexon. Wednesday, April 26, 2006. Other things that I wish I had said earlier: Jan Kott is amazing. When I have had trouble getting into a play (Read: Lear), Kott finds a way to make the whole thing interesting. I will admit that I did not know I was supposed to incorporate thoughts on the critical essays pertaining to the plays we were reading, so I did not add comments on Kott's comments. I will rectify this now, although not to the extent I would have liked. So, Kott in a nutshell.

Shakespearean Monkeys, make a story, waste some time

Creating great literature is now a social activity! Someone once said that if you have enough monkeys banging away on keyboards, they would re-create the works of William Shakespeare. Shakespearean Monkeys is an attempt at just that! Well, not really as they wouldn't let us loose with real monkeys. What we've seen from twitter and facebook suggested that the internet could be just as good). The concept is simple - you probably know it from school. The results can be. amazing.
