A beast, that wants discourse of reason.: October 2011

http://shakespearethebeast.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

A beast, that wants discourse of reason. Monday, October 31, 2011. Ariel the puppet, Prospero the puppeteer. My favourite costume in the production was saw of The Tempest by the Pioneer Theatre Company, was definitely Ariel's. Like I mentioned earlier. I really enjoyed the steampunk elements of the costume that added some quirky mystery and fantasy to her character. But what I liked most was how it functioned. In relation to her being like a puppet. In the hands of Prospero. I also noticed where the set ...

A beast, that wants discourse of reason. Sunday, September 25, 2011. The performance. [colour]. Here is something that stuck out to me in the performance of A Winter's Tale at the Utah Shakespeare Festival; the use of colour. In both costumes and sets. The first time we see Hermione, she is wearing a long white robe- almost looking as if she is about to get married. White, a symbol of purity and cleanliness, suggests here that she is pure and innocent. Posted by Kelsie Moore. Monday, September 19, 2011.

A beast, that wants discourse of reason. Monday, December 12, 2011. Loves Labours: A Documentary. Here is the final documentary Christa, Lauren and I created! Everything went so smoothly. Overall, I am very please with the documentary and the mood it evokes. I think while we were shooting, we definitely felt the jovial nature of the group and how much fun it was for them to perform and form the relationships you see in the documentary. What's in a Name? Sunday, December 11, 2011. To Be . . Continued? Shakespeare 232 - A Summary. I have to say, this class is not at all what I expected. (And I mean that in the best way possible). The atmosphere was very different from that of a formal class, which made the experience far more enjoyable; it became more of a Shakespeare-enthusiast book club with in-depth conversation, as opposed to some dull scholarly bi-weekly lecture. What's in a Name?: Director's Interview Questions

http://heinerchrista232.blogspot.com/2011/11/directors-interview-questions.html

What's in a Name? Thursday, November 17, 2011. Before shooting today's rehearsal, I wanted to get down some definitive questions we could ask Averill. I already came up with a few questions before:. Do you have any experience directing? What kind of challenges are you facing trying to lead others through this process? Do you have a definitive concept for this show? What do you want the audience to get out of watching this? In addition, I'd like to add:. Do you have any plans as far as costuming goes?

What's in a Name? Tuesday, November 1, 2011. I'm sorry I didn't get this posted before. My schedule is packed and insane this month and especially this week, and getting this posted just wasn't an option yesterday, but here it is, sans-pictures:. 1 How have I gained Shakespeare Literacy? Reading so many of his works also has helped me to see common themes, motifs, and messages coming through several of his works as a whole. Taking a look at the gestalt. And The Winter's Tale. What's in a Name?: Spontaniety vs Nerves

http://heinerchrista232.blogspot.com/2011/11/spontaniety-vs-nerves.html

What's in a Name? Tuesday, November 15, 2011. To see our groups progress on the documentary project, see Kelsie's Blog. We should have a promo video up either now or coming very soon! Anyway, for our initial interviews we decided not to give the interviewees time to come up with prepared answers, in the name of spontaniety. However, we've noticed how the combination of nerves and getting put on the spot is maybe being a bit counterproductive. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Refudiatin': King Lear and the Twitter

Smacks of something greater than itself". Monday, November 7, 2011. King Lear and the Twitter. In going over my midterm progress. Last week, he challenged me to broadcast my blog and my views on Shakespeare out into the real cyber world. A blog might be considered social media, but usually it's just a one-sided conversation unless people are brought to it. A blog is like a tree that falls in the forest and doesn't make a sound unless someone is there to hear it. Here's what I've got so far:. Some of them...
