Monday, 6 October 2008. Telling Lies is a short film made by Simon Ellis and it is 4 minutes and 9 seconds long. . The back ground throughout the whole film is black and only words appear on the screen instead of pictures or video clips! The words appear in different colours and font sizes, for example if someone is shouting the font size is bigger. . These pieces of work have insipred me for my own piece because they show all sorts of techniques and the difference between old and modern technology. I was mostley inspired by the film 'Doll face', it was very modern and it wasnt boring as it made the audience want to watch more. It is a recording of a street with people walking past going about their every day lives, whilst a man is shouting out what the people are doing before they actually do it! 160;It sounds as if the man is the director and the people are doing what he says. . The sound is non digetic because we cant see the man talking, but it is also digetic as we can see the cars and people on the screen making noise! The girl chewing gum.

Also Koyannisqatsi and 1001 nights aqre very similar because they both include some influene of war or trouble in thier concepts of film. For example Koyannisqwatsi opens with ther camera following a pice of debris from an explosion and in 1001 nightws all of the woman talk about an experience or memory they have had in some type of war experience.
