What I Would Do. But why mention this as the first post on this blog in, oh, two and a half months? Because of a little question my friends asked me. We can have a female super hero, but we can’t get past her outfit. So many conversations to have here, so many many things to say. We could even discuss why women in power positions must be over-sexualized. But this blog post is ridiculous fluff that barely grazes the surface of the issue it purports to be discussing. Husband’s 2010 Christmas Quilt. Before we were married, husband’s mother gave me A LOT of a very special fabric. It’s green and yellow and orange and brown. Triangles. The fabric is special because husband’s grandmother picked it out for him a long time ago (hence the color scheme). Unfortunately, she became ill and passed away before she could make anything for her grandson out of the fabric. A Word on My Sabbatical. Well, hello Internets! Since last I typed a post, we’ve had a whirlwind of activity in our world. I got a part-time job that’s become full-time for a while. And it’s working with kids. And I love it. So far this summer, I’ve: tie-dyed, created paper-mache, made homemade soda and ice cream, taken field trips to children’s theater and a pizza joint, and played uncountable games of “Land and Sea.” It’s a blast. It's A Shantastic Life! Teaching, Crafting, Walking the Dogs. March 19, 2015. We have a little routine to our days. There is baby carrying time and baby holding time and baby needs to sleep by himself in the swing time (which, oddly, comes out to the shortest time of all three of those). And there’s lots of baby play time. We love to read together. His favorite book is The Blue Horse. I am always pleased and surprised at him, at every moment of his precious life. 2 responses ». Using technology for higher learning. This experiment no doubt opened up a whole new idea for the fields of higher learning . Bringing technology into the classrooms proved to be fruitful with Davidson and her school but some people worry about the long term affects it could have on society as a whole. Or how about the child who is so into his Videogame he doesn’t even hear his mom calling him to dinner? They are likely to happen. Should she not have the right to do that? Is google making us stupid?
