The Scimitar has been off the road since mid Feb.after it did this to its O/E timing gear. No time or resource to sort out for a while so it had to sit in sulky shame until about two weeks ago. I wanted to find out how much damage had been done to valves etc so slipped a small USB camera into the plug holes to inspect.

After the cars rather abrupt Fireball XL5 exit somewhere in France last year Team Shed are going again a 2,000 mile round trip in 4 days. to the alps with a loop of the hallowed Stelvio . Updates to the blog have been sparse-mainly because Ive been "stealing hours in the shed" as much as possible -in between work, Daddy Duty and bashing houses- not getting out there till 10.00pm then finishing at midnight I cant really be arsed to write up what Ive done. Bigger cooling fan fitted with some relay control. Upgrades to lighting - again some extra relay control for the extra load. Fuel lines replaced - with stainless.

Well I bit the bullet and decided to replace the "uprights of pending death" with new units, I also bit another bullet and bought new brake discs all I need now is some sodding time to put it all to back on the car! Spacer seized on bolt -took me ages to free it all up-remarkably the stub axle came out very easily! To cheer myself up -unable to hide in the shed due to Daddy duties- see other blog "view from the edge".
