If your Entegra based Cirrus was built before October 2005. EMAXplus : PFD engine data for SIU based Avidyne Entegra Cirrus. EMAXplus enables the display of engine and performance data on the EXP5000 primary flight display (PFD), otherwise only available in later serial numbers. EMAXplus enables the PFD to monitor MAIN and ESSENTIAL bus voltages and display them instantaneously in case of abnormal values. EMAXplus will correctly log bus load data in EMax for later download and analysis.

EMAXplus will monitor engine and electrical bus data and provide aural and visual signaling for certain critical and abnormal conditions. The listed conditions are continuously monitored. All conditions will be indicated by tone and visual indication (CAUTION or MESSAGE flashing). The message is then announced on pilot request (ACK/REQ/SETUP button). Until the message has been played, the tone repeats every 60s. CAUTION remains on steady as long as any condition continues. How does it work?

Dear Fellow Cirrus Pilot,. With many hours in Avidyne Entegra based SR22s I always missed the display of engine data on the Entegra PFD. Especially during approach phases of a flight I wanted the MFD to permanently display the Chart page with the georeferenced JeppView / CMax plates. Switching between MFD pages to check engine parameters I felt created distraction from primary scan and unnecessary workload, especially when hand flying. This is how the EMAXplus idea was born.
