Moder-Dye: December 2014

http://moder-dye.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Friday, 26 December 2014. On Christmas Eve I had a nasty bike accident while out with Beren on his bike. Of all places it happened on the emergency helicopter landing pad for the hospital! The metal of the chain actually split! Not good on a bike less than 1 month old and not in any sort of challenging situation. On a positive note, my back is fine! Not a bad view. A bit of a lovers tiff going on here I think! It's not many places you can go shopping, have ...

Moder-Dye: November 2014

http://moder-dye.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Sunday, 30 November 2014. Da Lang Clodie Wick; a hike-a-bike up north. After another period of weeks without being able to do much due to back problems things are finally on the up and despite an iffy forecast I decided to take my new bike out for a ride on from North Roe out to the coast at Da Lang Clodie Wick. Here's a view of Da Lang Clodie Wick from where I left the bike. The pissing horse' not the nicest name for a waterfall, but fairly appropriate.

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Sunday, 30 August 2015. Frankies Chip Shop Charity Sportive. This morning was the 5th Annual Frankies Chip Shop Sportive. To raise money for The Fishermen's Mission, Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer's Research UK. With a choice of 10, 20 or 40 miles. I chose to challenge myself with the 40 miler on a fine but breezy day. Here's everyone ready for the off. Photo by Dave Phillips. Here's me heading up Dales Voe. Photo by Dave Phillips. Moder-Dye: Some weather!

http://moder-dye.blogspot.com/2015/08/some-weather.html

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Monday, 3 August 2015. Most of the last week has been pretty stunning weather, Summer even. I've not been out enjoying it though as mystery stomach issue has seen me laid low for most of the week. Still, it seems to have resolved itself in time yesterday for me to enjoy a glorious afternoon on the bike. Looking over St Ninian's Isle and out to Foula. Being such a nice day and seeing as the steeper side of Mossy Hill hadn't quite defeated me I decided it'd b...

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Wednesday, 29 April 2015. Parked up at The Dales Of Walls I left my camera taking photos for a time-lapse while I ate my lunch and talked to a visitor to Shetland about places to visit. Links to this post. Monday, 27 April 2015. Team Kevlar are GO! Way back in 2006 I lost a job I loved as a teacher due to illness. After a lot of toing and froing with doctors I was eventually diagnosed with ME/CFS. Anyway I thought I'd blow my trumpet (because I'm right chuf...

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Tuesday, 24 February 2015. Not the best idea! Despite being ill all week with stomach troubles I felt I'd best make the most of a sunny and still Sunday morning to stretch my legs and clear the cobwebs. I headed south for Burra thinking to try out my camera attached to my helmet. Well I got lots of footage, but I'd got the angle of the camera wrong so most of it was the front wheel and a bit of ground; none of the wonderful scenery! Links to this post.

Moder-Dye: October 2014

http://moder-dye.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Movement of the sea, used to get home in a fog. Monday, 20 October 2014. Thankfully we've had some decent weather for my friend Alan visiting. One nice day was spent largely out on Lunna Ness watching some otters and also popping up to Hunter's Monument. While we were there, some where I've never got round to walking up to before. It's a folly that was also used to look out for fish being landed 'illegally' rather than being landed for the Laird. I even got a few decent aerial shots of it from my kite.
