Six months in Lucca

Six months in Lucca. Thursday, December 22, 2011. Christmas and her inspirations…. Christmas is innately a period of reflection and either as a result of this or just by habit, I have noticed that as a society we gradually slow down …. developing a softness that is so comforting….People tend to offer a politeness, a gesture a smile a “buon natale, buona festa, happy Christmas.etc” ….and this will come from either a dear friend or a complete stranger. And compassion that is evoked in many. But for now, I ...

Six months in Lucca. Thursday, August 25, 2011. Contradiction’s and comparison’s…and gabbys first taste of italian gluten :-(. Ok, I lied, I said I would not compare….in an ideal world that would be the case …. But alas, I am imperfect and I have sucombe to the temptation of comparing cross culturally! I know not glamorous, but unavoidable sorry…. 8221; and they generally carry on… In Australia this form of acknowledgement is acceptable – but not on your nelly, here in the lucca parks,. Six months in Lucca: September 2011

http://sixmonthsinlucca.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Six months in Lucca. Thursday, September 15, 2011. Catching up -as school finally begins! It has hurt, overwhelmingly at times! The added pressure of starting a new school, new rules, new culture, new language….it’s BIG! But thank God, school has finally commenced, for Gabby and Spencer at least. They started this week at an Italian public school just around the corner from home. 8221; Malachy was happy to have his mum to himself for a morning. But from next week he will start Steiner school kindy &#...

Six months in Lucca: food, friends, festa's and fleeting visits...

http://sixmonthsinlucca.blogspot.com/2011/11/food-friends-festas-and-fleeting-visits.html

Six months in Lucca. Monday, November 14, 2011. Food, friends, festa's and fleeting visits. Well the two weeks of language school certainly put my life into more of a spin. Fortunately I was lucky to score a great teacher. Molto importante! My head was constantly aching for the two weeks, but I feel it did improve my language but still by no means fluent! However on the weekend we did take part in the schools excursion to yet another sagre (festival)! This one was big and popular! On a brighter note, mum...

Six months in Lucca: Christmas is coming…

http://sixmonthsinlucca.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-is-coming.html

Six months in Lucca. Monday, December 12, 2011. Christmas is coming…. Well the weeks are flying by now….and added pressure from work/studies in Australia is certainly not slowing time down…. Where I left off from last time…. Boys and bikes…. Recently the boys have learnt to ride a bike – without training wheels! We have been practising a bit lately and sure enough, Spencie took off – independent and free. He was so proud, head high, shoulder’s back and so proud of himself! Then their was the performance!

Six months in Lucca: July 2011

http://sixmonthsinlucca.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Six months in Lucca. Wednesday, July 27, 2011. It has been a busy weekend and week….On the weekend we had a pleasant supprise visit from our beloved friends…Giulia e Andrea, whom I met at work over 2 years ago. They have since moved back to their “hometown” of Lucca and have since had their first bambino “M”. It was such a delight to catch up and finally get to see and hold the new addition. Sorry mum, forgot the sunscreen, I was too preoccupied thinking about how the hell I was going to stay alive on th...

Six Months in Hamburg | Exploring Germany's second largest city

Six Months in Hamburg. Exploring Germany's second largest city. September 11, 2012. My last week in Hamburg has arrived. I just start packing tonight and will leave very early Saturday. Six Months in Kigali

Monday, January 26, 2009. Not too little time left here. Well, that too. But too little time to blog. I have all these great things to write about. But no time. So I'll make a list, and I'll get to them sooner or later. Moto accidents (not me, thankfully, and she's alright, even more thankfully). Music on the bus. Friends I've made (maybe with pictures). And something else I bet I forgot. Maybe I'll wait til I get back to Canada (I leave in 5 days, pretty much. Eek). Links to this post. Links to this post.

Help me make a difference! Saturday, January 19, 2013. SIDTMMTN (Part II):Malaysian Men. I realize it's been almost two years since I've come home from Thailand, but I feel like my blog is unfinished! I think he was slightly drunk because he kept saying " I love YOU" to me as I edged past him to the hallway beyond. I take you there! Do you want to go clubbing with me tomorrow night?
