A Stitch In Time: P is for Patchworked Painting
http://hereiam.typepad.com/astitchintime/2007/08/tiny-changes-in.html
A Stitch In Time. August 30, 2007. P is for Patchworked Painting. When I was in Barcelona last month my sister, her girlfriend and I went to the Joan Miro Museum where a Sean Scully exhibition was showing. I'd bought a print of the painting below for David's birthday last year and was really delighted to see it in 'real' life! Wall of Light Light by Sean Scully. I'd been thinking about making a patchwork inspired by the painting for a while and I've finally made a preliminary sketch. These aren't colours...

Common Threads: Texture
http://commonthreadsquiltbee.blogspot.com/2010/08/texture.html
Thursday, August 5, 2010. There was so much fabric I decided to make two blocks -. Hope that is ok! This was so fun - such gorgeous shades of solids and then deciding on. What pops of color to add to it. I used some scraps from. Far, Far Away 2 to add another dimension of texture with the linen. I'm mailing them off tomorrow. So excited to see this! Common Threads: The Red Cross Quilt
http://commonthreadsquiltbee.blogspot.com/2010/08/red-cross-quilt.html
Thursday, August 19, 2010. The Red Cross Quilt. I started with this wonderful embroidery and made it a focal point.I adored that teeny tiny cross too. I planned something totally different when I first thought about this project, but it evolved into this and I'm pretty happy with it. I had another bee make crosses for me as well, and of course they got all mixed up in the process. I'm working on making this two sided with another cross design on the back. Oh wow Jacquie - this is absolutely gorgeous!

Common Threads: July 2010
http://commonthreadsquiltbee.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 26, 2010. Jess and Sarah's blocks. First up is my block for Jess. I had intended on making a block similar to the one circled above. My width guestimation was way off, so the beginnings of that block turned into the center of my final block and a little strip in one of the outer edges. Here's an unobstructed shot of the block. Here's the final block. I guess I was trying to create "texture" with my blurry photography! Thanks so much for participating in the bee this round, everyone! Everyone...

Common Threads: February 2011
http://commonthreadsquiltbee.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Twelve quilters from eleven different states come together to sew in a virtual quilting bee. Each Quilter is assigned a month. That quilter picks out their fabric, purchases it, cuts it into smaller portions and sends it to the 12 other quilters. They also include directions to each of the 12 other quilters as to what they would like the blocks to be like. The 12 quilters do the stitching. The quilter then assembles their blocks into a finsihed quilt.

Common Threads: Challenging, but so fun!
http://commonthreadsquiltbee.blogspot.com/2010/08/challenging-but-so-fun.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Challenging, but so fun! This was probably the most challenging bee block I've ever made. I so appreciate the opportunity to stretch and struggle. When I saw that you wanted it to be dimensional, I thought of those little paper fans we used to make in school. So I played with fan folding, and angles. I hope the bit of color isn't too much. I'm inspired to make a dimensional quilt of my own. I love the fan and that big pop of red! August 16, 2010 at 6:57 AM. Soniksecurity offers ...
