Thursday, 29 January 2015. Rendezvous in Ross on Wye. I doubt if we'll see much more snow than this in the months to come, despite severe weather warnings for other regions of the U.K. Fifteen years on, I still miss real alpine snow. West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Sunday, 31 May 2015. She'd lost contact with Ann-Marie Hester who still runs the craft group, because of a digital data loss at some stage. I was pleased to be able to provide her with an address from memory, and then later an email address and phone number, so she could get back into contact. What an amazing coincidence, that she should be here on holiday with her mother. Labels: Michelle Heseltine photographer. Saturday, 30 May 2015.

West of the Centre: December 2014
http://westofthecentre.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Monday, 29 December 2014. I had Viber text messages overnight from Rachel, one from Chicago and another from Phoenix, telling that she'd been sick on the 'plane, from some noxious component of the in-flight vegetarian meal option. Meal booking menus don't always list ingredients that might present allergy problems, apart from the obvious life threatening ones. On this occasion, she got caught out. Another wobbly homecoming! On this occas...

West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Sunday, 29 March 2015. Allan and Lynne visited yesterday afternoon and Lynne took charge of changing her wound dressing. It all looks good and healthy, testimony to the care taken by the surgical team. Owain came over from Bristol for a couple of hours in the evening, with a large bunch of flowers to cheer his mum. Here's the link to the stream. Labels: Canton Rectorial Benefice. Thursday, 26 March 2015. Surgical success so far. I frette...

West of the Centre: June 2015

West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. We went to the mercadillo. It was another hot day, so it was quite an effort to get going after lunch and a siesta, but we did drive to Maro and then went to the beach, after parking the car half a mile above on the approach road, so that Clare could have a swim. It's a lovely secluded place with its own chirunguito. Labels: Playa de Maro. Monday, 29 June 2015. Saturday, 27 June 2015. After a siesta, we walked back...

West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Keep on taking the pills. After lunch Rachel and I drove up Thatcham in Berkshire to deliver Jasmine to her dad for their flight back to America. Happily, we have Rachel for another ten days. On the return journey we called on Amanda and James in Southmead. It was the first time Rachel and Amanda have been together for three years. Time flies. Thank heavens for Skype and Gmail. West of the Centre: Movie outing
http://westofthecentre.blogspot.com/2015/08/movie-outing.html
West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Monday, 3 August 2015. It's lovely to have Rachel and Jasmine here. The aroma of pancakes cooking for a late breakfast treat fills the house in the morning. Then the girls went to the swimming pool, and after an early lunch, I went into town and booked tickets for an early evening showing of the 'Minions' film, at Cineworld. The film's certification said it was fit for children (true) but contained mild comedic (? View my complete profile.

West of the Centre. Journey into retirement and voluntary ministry. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. Sunday, 28 September 2014. As today is Michaelmass Eve, the church's statue of their patron saint was mounted on a flower decked trona. Beside the main altar, ready for a fiesta procession and parish picnic later in the day. It reminded me of Michaelmass ten years ago when Anto and I did a flamenco guitar course in Granada. We stayed in the Albaicin barrio,. Was for four persons to carry, perhaps even children.
