Finding light and capturing thought. 5 days at auschwitz. My name is Chuck Baker and I make images using light. I use many different tools and techniques including analog or digital cameras along with new and historic processes. Sometimes there’s a mixture of digital technologies with very old darkroom techniques and sometimes there’s homemade emulsions and plates married to digital output…I don’t discriminate. September-October, 2016 – Juried Group – Somerville Toy Camera Festival. 8211; Astoria, Oregon.

Pictures aren’t so much an end goal for me as a symptom of my real interests: the fickleness of memory, the fleetingness of time, and tricks of the light. I accidentally nuked my site just before the holidays, so this reconstruction is a work in progress. ]. Most of the photos here will be lo-fi images, but I also use a Kowa/SIX, a Yashicamat TLR, a couple 35mm film cameras, and various medium-format lo-fi and “toy” cameras (near weightlessness and small size FTW).
