http://alexandmonik.blogspot.com/2013/10/at-copa-co-copacabana.html
At the Copa (CO! We took a trip to Copacabana. A few days ago with my parents. I am officially enamored with that town. It is so beautiful and you can feel so much peace. We had a chance to relax but we also walked, and walked, and walked. at least for 20 kms total for the three days we were there. We hiked up three different mountains and when you are at about 4000 meters over sea level that is kind of a big deal (at least for me). And now, the photos. The beautiful view during our hike / Templo del Sol...

el blog: it's lovely in South America
http://alexandmonik.blogspot.com/2013/09/its-lovely-down-south.html
It's lovely in South America. I am loving my time here with my parents. The only downside of this whole trip is the fact that I'll be apart from Alex for seven weeks. But I'm so grateful he's so supportive and understanding. He knows my family is really important to me and that this opportunity was too great to let pass by. I had planned a trip to visit home this year since forever ago, and it all seemed to fall into place nicely with me being able to quit my job. I'm going back to work after my trip.

It all began May 2006. We met through our friend Ingrid. I knew her since my freshman semester at BYU and Alex was in the Salsa Club committee with her. The night we met -. A couple of weeks later, I was already in Argentina on my internship and my friend Ingrid asked if she could give my msn chat e-mail to Alex. I said yes and we chatted pretty much every day. We would talk about everything: likes, dislikes, family, aspirations, goals, etc. We became friends. Me in Argentina and Alex in Provo -. Leaving...

http://alexandmonik.blogspot.com/2012/08/these-are-few-of-my-favorite-things.html
These are a few of my favorite things. When I'm feeling sad. I simply remember my favorite things. And then I don't feel so sad. I spent the most wonderful days in Utah. I imagine heaven feels like that when you are surrounded by those people you love with all your heart and who love you right back. They inspire me, help me, teach me, make me laugh. It will always feel like a second home to me. It's tough to beat the August nights in Utah, and the feeling of expectation in the air for fall. I think every...

February in a post. This past month has been such a roller coaster of emotion with incredible highs and extremely low points, but we made it through and came out the other side. First, one of the highest points: my parents came to visit us! And then, the low points. I am discovering a completely new facet of faith, and what trusting in Heavenly Father really means. I have had the gospel with me my whole life, but I have never searched for a strengthening of faith as much as I have recently. Beautiful pos...

el blog: home is where the heart is.
http://alexandmonik.blogspot.com/2013/09/home-is-where-heart-is.html
Home is where the heart is. I have been thinking about this for a while. Because San Antonio, TX is home. And Cochabamba, Bolivia is home. And Utah is also home. I have been eating a lot! So to offset the calories intake, my mom and I have joined a gym and we go to some Zumba and dancing sessions that are kicking my bum! It hurts to seat, to walk up and down the stairs, pretty much the only painless position right now is laying down but it feels so good! I am loving going everywhere with my mom and dad, ...

So once we got there in the beach by the lake, we were walking and I saw some seashells in the ground (at first I couldn't read what they said) but then I realized they said "MARRY ME". And Alex was already on one knee with a case and a beautiful ring in it. I was shocked. but SO HAPPY that words can't really describe. OF COURSE I said yes. and we hugged and kissed, and I screamed. and then we hugged, and then we kissed, and then hugged some more. Love is truly the essence of life. Welcome to our blog.
