A Stitching Grandma

Monday, August 17, 2015. This was a productive week as I had three finishes as well as a start. First, the finishes:. You can find the details about these finishes in their individual Happy Dance posts. The start doesn't look like much yet, but there's only about an hour or two done on it (with some frogging involved). It's Ballerina - Mindy from Cherished Teddies Sports and Occupations, Vol. 1. This is what it should look like when it's finished. And this is what it looks like now. This is stitched on 1...

A Stitching Grandma: August 2015

http://www.stitchinggrandmacathy.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 31, 2015. I did quite a bit of stitching this past week on two projects. The first is the CT Ballerina that I'm doing for Quilts for Older Children and Adults. I set it aside on Thursday to start working on my project for the Americana SAL. I'm working on an old UFO titled Let the Freedom Ring. In both cases the second picture has the truer colors. First day of 2nd Grade. Saturday, August 29, 2015. Happy Birthday, Janice! Tuesday, August 25, 2015. A Day with Kyleigh. Afterwards, we went to...

A Stitching Grandma: WIWO - 8/10/2015

http://www.stitchinggrandmacathy.blogspot.com/2015/08/wiwo-8102015.html

Monday, August 10, 2015. I felt like I had "Stitchers ADD" this week since I wasn't really able to stick with any one project after finishing the finger puppets. First, I started a bell outlined in black as a card for WOCS, but only got part of the outline done when I temporarily lost interest. I don't have a picture of what it's supposed it's supposed to look like because the only picture in the magazine is the chart and I didn't want to use that, but what you see is a leaf and part of the bell. With th...

A Stitching Grandma: New Glasses

http://www.stitchinggrandmacathy.blogspot.com/2015/08/new-glasses.html

Saturday, August 8, 2015. Kyleigh's frames were about ready to fall apart so, since she'd bought the Protection Plan, Janice decided to get her a new pair. Kyleigh immediately found a pair of Elsa glasses that fortunately cost the same as her old ones. Since the frames were different, she also needed to get new lenses, which she needed anyway because the old ones were scratched. This first picture I took to show Kyleigh why they had her put on the funny glasses. (Sorry it's crooked.). A Day with Kyleigh.

Stitching Girl

Monday, June 24, 2013. Lacy Scarves and Harry Potter. So I have this new obsession with the Lacy Scarf. I definitely need some new pictures (working on that) as these do not do it justice, but the look is just so incredible and fun to make. As with most scarves, these can be made longer or shorter depending on your preference. These scarves are $20 shipped (US COST ONLY) and are available for purchase through either Etsy. Please feel free to contact me for any special requests. Monday, October 22, 2012.

stitchinggrandma | Quilting and Sewing projects

Quilting and Sewing projects. Mary’s Quilt Projects. August 4, 2015. Log Cabin Cross banner 25×35″. Details on the pattern and construction – here. Project cost was about $40. This was a small project and I only purchased 1 yard of the outer border fabric, and then 1/2 yards of the other fabrics. I might have gotten away with a 1/4 yard purchase, and my favorite Quilt Store would cut 2″ if that is what I wanted! I wanted it to be ready for delivery! Princess dress Butterick pattern # B4320. Stitching GRITS

Monday, June 3, 2013. Since I had so many leftover threads from the Santa canvas, I was able to stitch this entirely with stash threads. Yay! Again, I tried to stick to the stitch guide as much as possible, not so much to maintain the integrity of the design, but more so I try out new stitches that I normally wouldn't do. The tricky part for me was the background. Nothing was drawn on the canvas so I measured out what I thought would work. Looking at it, it's a little big, but oh well. I also...I really ...

Stitching Hands and Happy Hearts. Wednesday, February 22, 2012. It's Been A while. My husband decided he wanted to raise honey bees. We started learning all we could and then jumped in. We have 9 hives now and in spite of the dry weather last year we managed to harvest a small amount of honey. This spring we've had plenty of rain and everything is blooming so we are hopeful of having a good year and getting lots of honey. Posted by no one here. Thursday, October 16, 2008. Stitching Happiness

A blog about stitching in whatever form I fancy at the time, all this takes place in my box room sanctuary. Friday, 2 January 2015. Missed you so much. Having said that, I've been none stop crocheting. So I have lots to show you :). This was so much fun and was a pram/buggy size so didn't take long. I just wanted to experiment with this stitch, Loved this little bag, but it could do with a lining to give it some sturdiness. And who doesn't like a hat? Thursday, 10 July 2014. GIVE ME A WAVE.
