Dr G's Vintage: October 2011
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 5 October 2011. The best way to iron a shirt. My OH is an avid diver, and will don a wetsuit with glee at the sight of a small puddle. So last year, in the spirit of sharing in his passions, I learned to Scuba Dive. I admit it. I am an unashamed fair weather diver. I draw the line at a depth of 36 metres, and preferably only in beautiful areas, say, oh I don't know. The Maldives or somesuch. Underwater Ironing has somewhat of a cult following among the diving community. 65279;. Oh, the glamour.

Dr G's Vintage: Red Carpet Runners -The Greensand Way 2012 Party
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2012/06/red-carpet-runners-greensand-way-2012.html
Sunday, 10 June 2012. Red Carpet Runners -The Greensand Way 2012 Party. My husband and 3 friends have recently completed a truly staggering feat. To celebrate completing the event, they held an 'after party', last night. The excellent Royal Oak Pub in Guildford kindly provided the venue and food. The theme for the party was 'Red Carpet Runners'. An opportunity to inject some glamour into an extremely unglamorous sport was presented! Various party games were on hand to entertain:. Provided some wonderful ...

Dr G's Vintage: April 2012
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 28 April 2012. Fabulous Foundation - Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. I consider myself to be a sensible woman. I don't believe that coloured lumps of crystal will make my life better, I don't follow food fads, and I'm damn sure I won't become a millionaire if I forward that email to 10 people I know. I have a tendency for facial shinyness. Not the 'glowing beauty' kind of shinyness. The greasy kind. For clarity, I do not consider this to be a good look.). And then.something amazing happened.

Dr G's Vintage: (Knit &) PurlJam, aka Stitch 'n Bitch
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2012/02/knit-purljam-aka-stitch-n-bitch.html
Wednesday, 22 February 2012. Knit &) PurlJam, aka Stitch 'n Bitch. For a few months I've been hankering after some lovely vintage-style cardigans. Finding original vintage knitwear that's in great condition AND fit's the modern woman, can be a trial (as anyone with 'a bosom' will know! I received a wonderful Christmas present from Mr G of a book of vintage knitting patterns, re-written for the modern knitter. How exciting! Except I don't know how to knit. In Godalming (chosen for it's lovely atmosphere a...

Dr G's Vintage: Land Girl Chic
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2012/02/land-girl-chic.html
Wednesday, 8 February 2012. I'm currently snowbound and freezing in my little wooden house, because I've run out of heating oil. This has become a yearly event for me. Every year I think 'oh, I'm low on oil, I must order some more', and then I forget about it. and then it snows. and then my heating goes off.and then the oil supplier can't get to me for over a week. This does actually bear a striking resemblance to my home, though mine is a bit draftier. 65279;. Cord Dungarees by Freddies of Pinewood,.

Dr G's Vintage: August 2011
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 August 2011. Back to the beginning. Solets start from the beginning. My love of feminine dressing wasn't immediately apparent on the surface, but I adored lingerie from the time I started needing to wear it. Even through my teenage uniform of baggy jeans and BIG shirts, I always wore matching lacy bra and panties. Frankly, i. F I could swan about all day in silkie pieces of nothing wearing marabou slippers and a Hollywood robe, I would. I'm having to re-educate myself to 1) buy more 'everyday...

Dr G's Vintage: September 2011
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 20 September 2011. Not the Goodwood Revival. Ah, September. The most vintage month of all months! Because of course, the Goodwood Revival is on! Goodwood. I love the Aero Club cafe and the interesting people you meet there, I love The Kennels, I love the statue of Douglas Bader. I even love the wind on the airfield, though it ruins my hair. But I especially love The Goodwood Revival. Please excuse the extremely non-vintage hair here! I was just beginning! I have to say, I was not completely thri...

Dr G's Vintage: June 2012
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 June 2012. Foundation' garments are extremely important. At the very least, most of us will wear a bra and knickers every day. Choose wrongly, and you will spend the day suffering from any combination of:. Wedgie plucking - because the pants are badly cut and just will not stay in place! VPL - caused by knickers that have been over-enthusiastically elasticated. Strap marks - a poorly constructed bra can dig into your shoulders leaving you with painful impressions. And I do mean never. I tend...

Dr G's Vintage: Review - Vintage Fair at the Boileroom, Guildford
http://drgvintage.blogspot.com/2012/02/review-vintage-fair-at-boileroom.html
Friday, 24 February 2012. Review - Vintage Fair at the Boileroom, Guildford. In Guildford is a Music/Arts/Creative venue in an old pub, on Stokefields just off York Road. I've been to gigs there, and performed there, several times over the last year. However, a few of us Ukejammers were asked to play at their 11th February event and agreed. I am pleased to reveal that The 2nd Fair was much better organised, with a great vibe, and a lot of really lovely vintage clothes and accessories. Photo By John Hudson.
