How the Camel Got His Hump. The Plan: Going to the Moscow Library. On: May 29, 2009. Okay…here is my plan: I am really excited about the book Fall is Not Easy. In fact, it might be my favorite picture book. But here is my problem…. 1 I work in an academic library…that does not have my desired book. 2 Yes, the univ does have an education library and in that education library there are children’s books and picture books…but not my desired book. 1 Response to "The Plan: Going to the Moscow Library". Practice, Practice, Practice. On: May 5, 2009. Am pretty excited 🙂. I will be having my first storytelling on Wednesday. I am just finishing up my flannel board to accompany my story. My story is for little kids, but I will be doing the storytelling with the student employees at the WSU libraries. I figure, I am their evening supervisor and I can *ask* them to attend. I think I will lure them with sweets. On: May 2, 2009. 2 What I liked (and might use). And 3 What I will skip. 1 What was it abou t.

Practice, Practice, Practice. What’s your Fav. Story? On: May 8, 2009. In: Just for Fun. I asked the kids at work what their favorite stories were as children. The ‘kids’ aren’t actually kids…they are undergraduate students at WSU who work in the library. After they told me their favs I requested all of the books. It was fun to hear about what picture books they LOVED. 8230;some of them got really excited to share their memories…so it pretty much made my work week. Where the Wild Things Are-Maurice Sendak.

Digital Storytelling Journal: Evening of Storytelling!
http://jmwolflis561.blogspot.com/2009/05/evening-of-storytelling.html
A record of my journey through Storytelling: Art and Techniques LIS 561 from the ischool at the University of Washington. Saturday, May 16, 2009. Last night 2 classmates and I got together to perform stories for our friends and families. It was lots of fun, and I think it went really well. Here also are Rabbit's Snow Dance and Popcorn, which are neat to hear again because the audience is different, and it's in a different location (and I've practiced a lot more). The Adaptation of Olivia-. Link to the story at the bottom of the page. After much searching and reading, I fell back on my favorite recent children’s book- Olivia. I chose this book because I love the creative energy that Olivia displays, and I think this is a great quality to share with children.I decided that instead of retelling one of the books of Olivia, I would pull from several of the books and focus on Olivia’s character. The making of the storyball-. Olivia at the piano image- Now look at Olivi...

Storytelling to Kindergarten | Spinning the Yarn
https://spinningtheyarn.wordpress.com/2009/05/17/storytelling-to-kindergarten
May 17, 2009 · Filed under Uncategorized. My first live performance of storytelling was to a group of kindergarten children. For me this was intimidating because I teach high school students everyday. I was excited to share my favorite children’s book Olivia. It was Friday afternoon during my planning period that I ventured over to the elementary library. The kids were very excited because I was a new person plus they were almost finished with school for the weekend. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

A record of my journey through Storytelling: Art and Techniques LIS 561 from the ischool at the University of Washington. Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Assignment 4: Story Set. I also chose these stories because of their repetitive bits in threes “What big… you have” and “Little Pig, Little Pig…” are wonderful repetitions and stick in your head. Benjamin Pig echoes this with “I don’t like…” which fits him in this triad of stories. It runs a little over 15 minutes (15 minutes and 11 seconds).
