This Easter I was invited to make a work for The Stations of the Cross exhibition held at Wesley Uniting Church in Perth. I have accepted after a serious consideration and soul search. T. O tell the truth, I didn't even know the meaning of The Stations of the Cross until I did some research. I accepted without any idea how to approach the theme, but knowing that it will be a spiritual challenge as well as artistic one. Mother ...

Intuitive Sense of Connection. Memories of the Ocean. Standing at Waters Edge. Saturday, 23 May 2015. I don't usually post about private life, but on this occasion I am making an exception, as it was an exceptional event. On Sunday 25th April my son married his beautiful girlfriend. To commemorate the occasion, I made little vases for each guest. I threw them on the wheel from 230g of white stoneware clay. I used every lump, no rejects, no fuss. Here are the results:. Intuitive Sense of Connection. Memories of the Ocean. Standing at Waters Edge. Intuitive Sense of Connection. Friday, 3 October 2014. Here and Now 14 has ended and Shape of Thought. Has been taken apart to transport back to the studio. For some time now I have been pondering how to improve the design, and the obvious conclusion is to replace the brackets with the sturdier, welded construction. I have even done a welding for sculptors workshop in anticipation of the next challenge. If you remember, I have...

Intuitive Sense of Connection. Memories of the Ocean. Standing at Waters Edge. How do you start working on a new project? Does it follow as an extension of the previous one like a variation on a theme, or is it a new beginning? A bit of both? As soon as work for the Stations of the Cross was finished I had to refocus and start considering work for 30. I was thinking of creating a work which emerges from the ground, when I stumbled upon a small book of patterns called Kaleidometrics by Sheilah Shaw. There...
