Chronicle of baking and more at high altitude. Altitude 7300 ft (2225 m.). Thursday, January 10, 2008. I made some chocolate cupcakes from a recipe over at cupcakeblog.com. I used the Chocolate Chai cupcake. I'm going to briefly go over the ingredients here. I weighed out the flour, FYI. I forgot to weigh the cocoa, because I was lazy, and had a conference call very soon and needed to get them in the oven. The oven was set to 350 F, with a thermometer inside. 1 1/4 tsp baking powder. 1/4 cup cocoa powder.

I probably went to the grocery store more times than I should have but I stuck to the menu plan. Sunday: Sloppy Joes (with meat, not tempeh, like last week) using this recipe: Sophisto Joes. Monday: Stir-fry night (with chicken, mushrooms, bell pepper, and whatever else is in the fridge.). With green olives and lemons. Last weeks new recipes review.

Well John took one bite of the farrotto last night and promptly put down his fork and said, "I don't like it." Which is something he almost never does.
