The holidays were approaching and we didn’t think Grace would see Thanksgiving or Christmas or a New Year. We had planned to spend Thanksgiving in. It was also very sad when we started the Klonopin because even though it helped Grace to be more comfortable and cry less it made her very sleepy and she opened her eyes far less frequently than she had before. It was such a gut wrenching choice as a parent to make your child comfortable but not be able to look in their eyes and lose that interaction.

Grace amazed me because she was constantly changing. Everyday brought something new and I was a little shocked at how quickly she seemed to be getting older. Part of me wanted her to stay my little girl forever. She got bigger and gained better control of her arms and hands. She would look at you and hold eye contact.
