The City of Iron: New Zine: Wormskin
http://the-city-of-iron.blogspot.com/2015/08/new-zine-wormskin.html
Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Greg Gorgonmilk and I have been dreaming for some time of a mythic, monster-haunted forest known as Dolmenwood. We've considered various forms of publication but have now settled on a piecemeal exposition of the locales, inhabitants, magic, and mysteries of the setting in the form of a zine. It shall be known as Wormskin. The first issue is in production now and should be ready for an August release. Tentative contents:. Grimalkin race-class and monster description. But So hit tha...

The City of Iron: D&D 5 Basic: Dwarf
http://the-city-of-iron.blogspot.com/2015/02/d-5-basic-dwarf.html
Sunday, 15 February 2015. D&D 5 Basic: Dwarf. I mentioned recently on google that I've been a bit frustrated by the complexity of character creation in D&D 5. Though they've eliminated much of the complexity of equipment selection (a very welcome change, in my books! There's still a lot of different stuff to choose, which can be very overwhelming for new players. Here's what I've come up with:. You can download it as a PDF here. Some of the text was based on Konstantin M. All D&D 5 basic classes: Elf.

The City of Iron: LotFP House Rules
http://the-city-of-iron.blogspot.com/2013/12/lotfp-house-rules.html
Tuesday, 17 December 2013. Following my purchase of the Lamentations of the Flame Princess Weird Fantasy RPG. I have of course been thinking about what kind of game I would run with it at some point. The main idea that's popped into my head is to run some games in the Wormwood. Campaign setting that Greg Gorgonmilk. Like any DM worth his salt, I have thus - as first order of the day! Been thinking up some house rule tweaks to emphasize the desired tone. Identify herbs, minor healing capability. Character...

A Wizard in a bottle: November 2012
http://awizardinabottle.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 10, 2012. Les Essarts : A draft map of my Dodecaedron World. This map is intended for the publication of the second opus of my Dodecaedron world. Posted by Nicolas Dessaux. Thursday, November 1, 2012. House of the Hogboblin Daimyo, part II. The strangest feature of MM’s Orcs is probably their helmet. Sure, they depicted as pig-men and it’s a feature I’d like to discuss in another post, but look that helmet! Gnolls mismatched armour was another problem to solve, but it appears the close...

A Wizard in a bottle: Middle earth as an hexmap
http://awizardinabottle.blogspot.com/2011/11/middle-earth-as-hexmap.html
Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Middle earth as an hexmap. I was surprised I couldn't find a Middle-Earth hexmap. I guess this is like a "sacred monster" and turning itto hexes would be a blasphemy. So I did it, not a very detailed map, but the kind of one you could use in a vanilla od&d campaign. . The City of Iron: LL/5e Mashup: Skills
http://the-city-of-iron.blogspot.com/2015/07/ll5e-mashup-skills.html
Wednesday, 15 July 2015. As I mentioned on Google , I've been thinking about how it might look to take some of the bits I like about D&D 5 into a simpler rules system like Labyrinth Lord. One of my favourite bits of the new edition is the simple skills / proficiency system. This forms a foundation for some other stuff, so I'll lay that out first. 1d6 based, like LotFP. All characters have a base 1 in 6 chance of success. Relevant ability score above 14: 1 in 6 chance of success. Lore (legends, history).
