http://lifeonthefarmandotherwarstories.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Life on the Farm and Other War Stories. Thursday, February 14, 2013. It is Valentine's Day. This post card is another from my Granmother Lucy Platt's collection. It gives a 1912 sent date and a Hudson, Iowa address. It is signed M and G down in the far left hand corner and there is no message. It was sent from Englewood Station, Chicigo, Illionis. It is in lovely condition for a paper item just over 100 years of age. The flowers and heart are raised and the colors are lovely. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Life on the Farm and Other War Stories. Thursday, October 31, 2013. This picture was not taken this year; yet it could have been. A couple of weeks ago we had a snow fall of an inch. Since it is Halloween I thought it would be fun to post. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Fall is in Full Swing. Oh, yes I had one very big carrot. It was in a row of normal carrots so I do not know what caused the steroid like growth. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View from our eating area. The time has come. To talk of many things:.

Life on the Farm and Other War Stories: Chocolate Cookies
http://lifeonthefarmandotherwarstories.blogspot.com/2013/07/chocolate-cookies.html
Life on the Farm and Other War Stories. Friday, July 26, 2013. Chocolate Cookies with White Chocolate Chips or Peanut. I made these cookies today. For the cocoa I used some of the Valrhona 100% cacao. This cocoa powder is said to be one of the best brands. This is the first I have used the package we bought in Minneapolis this winter in cookies. I wanted to know if we could tell the difference and if it was by chance worth the extra money. Excellent choice of chocolate Bec! August 11, 2013 at 9:45 PM.

Life on the Farm and Other War Stories: May 2012
http://lifeonthefarmandotherwarstories.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Life on the Farm and Other War Stories. Monday, May 28, 2012. From what I could find out the picture was taken in July of 1918 at Camp Dodge, Iowa. It was taken by Englishman Arthur S Mole and American John D Thomas. Arthur's great nephew Joseph Mole, 70, says: "In the picture of the Statue of Liberty there are 18,000 men: 12,000 of. Them in the torch alone, but just 17 at the base. The men at the top of the picture are actually half a mile away from the men at the bottom".". The photograph was taken wit...

Life on the Farm and Other War Stories. Thursday, October 25, 2012. It has been ages since I have written anything. No real reason but. We did something we should have done a long time ago and planted an apple tree. We are looking forward to someday having some Honey Crisp apples to harvest. I enjoyed watching Hannah run cross country this season. She usually placed third on her team. Running to keep in shape is her main goal. Soccer is the sport she loves the most. Life on the Farm and Other War Stories. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Http:/ www.marthastewart.com/355368/mediterranean-chicken. I tried this recipe tonight. We have lots of small tomatoes in our garden so when I saw this on the blog classic casual home I figured it was worth a try. We both liked it. It is a bit different recipe for us and it will be one to add to our keeper list. The potatoes I made are some we like but had not done in a while. The grocery store had new red potatoes. 1 garlic clove minced.
