East Coast 2013 New York. I loved NYC with my parents. We had so much fun. That busy city is a unique place and I heart it! We happened to be there during the hottest days of the year. I love in the desert but man oh man that heat with the humidity just about did me in. Not sure how the new yorkers do it, especially waiting for the subway! We decided to go to the "top of the rock" instead of the empire state building and it was great! They are the best parents, eva! I love you, central park.

I love Thanksgiving and it is always so fun for me to prepare Thanksgiving dinner! We had a very low key celebration at home this past year. We spent time together remembering all that we have been blessed with. It was great. Just us, our Bear boy, and our friend Bob. I made the same turkey I made last year and it was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! I also tried a homemade cranberry sauce ( recipe. And it was so easy and super yummy (and I don't even like cranberry sauce)! One more new recipe I tried was for a gravy.

East Coast 2013 4th of July Boating. What better way to spend the 4th of July than in our nation's capitol? How about on a boat in our nation's capitol! It was truly the most fabulous few days on the boat with the best people. I love seeing Rob in his element. Toledo is a quick little trip from Madrid and it is well worth it! A nice little quaint escape from the big city! I thought it reminded me of a little italian village, my fave. Make sure you figure out your train tickets prior to the day you plan on going, it could be a little confusing. Europe 2014: Madrid, Spain. Our hotel was awesome and I highly recommend it. Hotel Europa. Overlooking Puerta del Sol! We managed to see all the sights in Madrid that we wanted and even caught a Real Madrid match!

Somehow my baby turned 1! Olivia was born on the 4th of July so I thought that we should have a patriotic themed 1st birthday. It was so fun planning it and although I waited and started planning her party late, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Europe 2013 Trdelnik, deliciousness. This yummy treat we found in Prague deserves a post of its own! This sweet pastry is made with rolled dough wrapped around dowels that cooks over this grill thing. Then it is rolled in sugar and you can have other goodies on the inside! East Coast 2013 D.C. Monuments. The monuments at "The Mall" in D.C. never get old. Every time I've visited D.C. I check them out. We started the day off at Arlington National Cemetery. Make sure you catch the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, always impressive. I'm grateful for the men and women who have and continue to serve this great country of ours. We love having our annual passes to Disneyland! It is such a treat to be able to go whenever we want and not feel like we have to do everything.
