Welcome to South Africa  | thewanderingmedstudent

https://thewanderingmedstudent.wordpress.com/2016/05/17/welcome-to-south-africa

Welcome to South Africa. Asymp; 2 Comments. May 16th marks our first day in South Africa. At the airport we are greeted by our guide Lovemore, an appropriate name for the kind and funny man. A short drive to our residence for the night, Brown Sugar Hostel. The hostel is located about 20 minutes outside Johannesburg and has a quiet-pleasant feel. Next post →. Thoughts on “Welcome to South Africa ”. May 17, 2016 at 5:58 pm. That is so cool! I can’t wait to read about all of your adventures!

Into the Wilderness and Study Abroad Recap. Asymp; Leave a comment. I’ve now ventured on my own to the Garden Route, an incredibly beautiful and scenic part of South Africa. Specifically, I’ve landed at Fairy Knowe Backpackers, a hostel inside the area known as the Wilderness and my home for the next four weeks. Lots already to say abut the place, but I will save it for my next post! For now here’s a recap of the study abroad trip following our safari. A prisoner identification card. Prisoners were r...

Asymp; 1 Comment. Tour guide Dave explains the importance of staying in the tour trucks. Don’t want to end up as someone’s lunch. One of the many giraffes we saw. Incredible animals that use their long powerful legs to fend off lions and other predators. At the watering hole we saw zebras, warthogs, baboons, hippos, antelope, and even a crocodile. Not 10 minutes into our second day of safari we came across these elephants as they crossed the road. If you look at the far right you can see the baby!

Missed opportunity: International study overlooked #HogsAbroad. By Carly Shelby, Special to the Democrat-Gazette. Posted: August 10, 2015. The United States of America has one of the best educational systems in the world. We pride ourselves as being international leaders, world travelers, and entrepreneurs in the land of opportunity. However, our academic structure is lacking. Why does this matter? The question arises: Why aren't more American university students taking advantage of this opportunity, esp...

HogsAbroad Student Blogger Spotlight: Grazie, Roma! Our #HogsAbroad student blogger, Bailey, wrote this about her summer at our U of A Rome Center:. It’s been almost a whole month since I boarded a plane in Rome to head back home to my favorite country in the world! It’s a strange phenomenon, but culture shock when returning to your home country is a very real thing! Looking back on my time in Rome, I realize there was truly no part that I didn’t love! HogsAbroad Student Blogger Spotlight: Saying Goodbye is the Hardest Part. Our #HogsAbroad student blogger, Kendell, said farewell to his Intensive Japanese summer program:. In Japanese, さよなら (sayonara) does mean goodbye, but it implies that you will either never see them again, or it will be years before you will next meet. I didn’t say さよなら to my friends, because I know I will return. Here is to the cherished friends we have, and the ones we have to leave behind. Thank you for reading,. I'm Newi in Town.

HogsAbroad Student Blogger Spotlight: Ciao from Katie. Foolhardy – adj; recklessly or thoughtlessly bold; foolishly rash or adventuresome. Or in other words… What the heck was I thinking? I don’t think I’ve ever found a word so accurate in describing my feelings, but after bouncing back between the thesaurus and the dictionary, I think this one hits the nail on the head. HogsAbroad Student Blogger Spotlight: The End is Near. Our #HogsAbroad student blogger, Peyton, is coming to terms with leaving Cambridge soon:. With less than two weeks left in the program I find myself at a cross-roads of emotions. On one end I’m so excited to go home to sweet tea, air conditioning, and of course my friends and family, but on the other side I am so incredibly sad to be leaving this beautiful country and all my friends here. Everyone come to Cambridge you absolutely won’t regret it.

A Mandalorian Cosplay

Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Yes, yes this is. Last week I managed to order the mannequin I was looking at as well as a visor for my bucket and both have come in :) The mannequin looks like it's going to be great (will post a pic later on in the update) as I threw one of my tighter t's on it and it fit a little loose but not much. It just arrived today so no progress on that yet. Other than all of that there's not been much progress. What with school starting up and practices for shooting starting back ...

Thursday, November 18, 2004. God, Indivdualism and Pendulums. One of my readers suggest I rename this piece, to reflect more accurately the theme and ideas of the discussion. Work and matters of a personal nature precluded me from meeting that self imposed deadline. Some will say (mistakenly, I believe) that w...
