Saturday, 14 February 2015. I've been feeling the love with my scrappy heart mini quilt. I cut the pink squares at 1.5" and ironed them onto some lightweight interfacing in a pixelly style and sewed along all of the sides. Once I'd pressed it flat I cut a heart template and hand appliqued the heart onto the base star fabric. It's been brightening up my week hanging on the wall. Tuesday, 24 February 2015. How lovely is this pretty little granny square? It's designed by the talented and lovely Astri over at Apple Blosson Dreams. For a 12" cushion insert I made nine granny rose squares with a row of trebles around the edge after joining them. I din't count how many chains I used on the back, I just kept going until it looked like it was roughly the width of the front piece. Wednesday, 9 October 2013. It has literally taken years of perseverance to learn how to crochet but I've now just about got the hang of it (thanks entirely to my lovely friend Amy). I'd previously had varying degrees of success and I use the word 'success' lightly. Well, I'm at least now acquainted with the humble granny square and I have lots of plans for it.
