Diary of a family holiday - part 3. Dawn Princess cruise Australia to New Zealand. Napier is an historic town and unique to every other place we visited in New Zealand. It is a bit like time stood still and the whole town is presented as a bygone era of 1930’s art deco. It is also home to the 1931 Hawkes Bay earthquake. Which we never heard the end of. For days. Funny things my kids say #5. We are in the car on the way to visit a family member for lunch and in the car son says Dad, when we get there I want to explore her forest. I turn around to my wife and we both smirk at each other. Later as we are all sitting around the table eating lunch, son says When we finish lunch lets go and explore the forest. He then turns to his sister and adds We better get our fists ready in case there are spiders in there. I am still laughing. February 08, 2015.
