And when I can't stand, I have to lean. And when I can't see, I must believe. The Great Physician's touch is a balm that can. Mend broken hearts with one scarred hand. It's a hand that holds this whole world in place. It's a hand that was scarred just to give me grace. And to think a hand that holds the stars.

Wednesday, April 21, 2010. This year, my parents were moving so we went in a half week earlier to help them move. That was a fun time to spend with them and feeling like we could help them in some way. Then, we went to church with Jimmy's parents on Sunday morning and me and the children were asked to sing. Friday, April 20, 2012. Life is filled with changes. I don't handle the big ones well. I remember my last piano lesson. It was sad. I cried when I left. I loved my teacher so much and had spent 30 minutes with her virtually every week for several years. It was hard. I remember going to college. I was only an hour from home, but I was homesick for days and days. I contemplated going home in the middle of the night on that first night. I remember moving to Michigan, 13 hours from home. It was SO hard.

Sunday, March 18, 2012. The Lady I Call "Mom! What can be said about such a constant in my life? Someone I always counted on to be there. Someone I wanted to follow and grow up to be like. How can I begin to count all the ways she has encouraged me and uplifted me? What can be said of all the times I have laughed at her, and all the times she laughed at me? All the times I'm sure I embarrassed her as a toddler, and she embarrassed me as a sensitive teenager? Heard my parents fight in my life. Never!

Friday, July 31. There are some very beautiful old houses here. One of the horse and carriage tours. These houses are really close together. The front of one faces the back of another, with just enough room in between for a driveway wide enough for a single car. You can see that here. There are gates on the driveway that stretch from house to house, and the door by the gate leads up onto the front porch. The United States Custom House on Meeting Street. One of the statues in the park along the Battery.

Wednesday, August 18, 2010. I am ALWAYS on the hunt for a new recipe! I recently came across this one, and thought I'd try it. We LOVED it! So If you have an adventurous side and like to try new things then give this a whirl. 4 boneless skinless chicken breast. 1 pkg taco seasoning mix. 3-4 potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced. 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese. 1/4 cup sour cream (optional). Makes 4 servings. Tip: To prevent potatoes from sticking to the foil, spray with cooking spray. Friday, August 6, 2010.

I love birthdays, not for all the attention you receive (while of course it is nice and makes the day special) to me it's the blessing of another year! There is some vegetation that grows in the cave due to things that humans bring in on their own bodies and because of what small amount of light that is in the cave these things can grow.
