Now that the girls are getting older, there have been tears this year at each of their birthdays from the one who wasn't getting the gifts. Stan, Jenny, Miriam, Eliza and Dallin. Friday, July 17, 2015. We did our second year at Swim Ranch this past week. This year Miriam was in Lane 1 with two teachers and three other girls. She improved so much during the course of the week. The second day they lined up the girls at the diving board and encouraged them to jump in. They all chickened out and said no. All this little guy wants is someone to pay attention to him and he will reward you with one of his heart-melting smiles. I mean, who can't smile at that face? Who says boys can't wear bows? Stan, Jenny, Miriam, Eliza and Dallin. Monday, July 20, 2015. Trip to Utah - Lindon. We made our annual pilgrimage to Utah. The two-day trip went rather well, no major catastrophes and we were all mostly sane upon arrival. For the first part of the week we stayed with Nana and Papa. The girls enjoyed bedtime stories with Papa. While there we made a quick visit to my Grandma Stradling. We also visited with our friends, the Johnsons. Stan enjoyed a reunion with his two best friends, Kevin and Derek.

Miriam was in the middle of her 5-day fever virus so we were quarantined from the rest of civilization. A friend had given us a few small kid fireworks (no fire needed). Another activity we did a lot during the summer when I was a kid was go to the local amusement park, Silver Dollar City (or as my dad fondly calls it "STEAL your dollar city). While it may not have as cool of attractions as Disney World (although it does have some really good roller coasters), it definitely has the best food, hands down. I was nervous taking a 5 month old baby, but he did really well. What a champ! Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
