The collages function as a sketchbook for me to articulate, investigate and condense an idea that eventually gets infused into an assemblage sculpture. They are meticulously hand cut with x-acto blade, scissors and fused together with a glue stick. Some of the collages function as notebooks of ideas for future artworks . I was very interested in movement or the blurring of the subject as an expressive element in my photography. Working with slower shutter speeds to record intentional and minor movement or disturbances of the subject I felt added an otherwordly quality to the photos and helped conjure up a feeling of mystery that I hoped would be unnerving to the viewer.
