trewilliam blog: 04 December 2011
http://trewilliam.blogspot.com/2011_12_04_archive.html
Monday, 5 December 2011. Occupy London: 50 days. The famous street artist Banksy donated the Monopoly board; it is in front of the West front of London's cathedral church. Here is St Paul's photographed from the South Bank of the Thames on a splendid November afternoon following thick morning fog. This November has been the warmest and driest for something like a hundred years. Posted by Dylan William. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Some less familiar places. Islington, London N1, United Kingdom.

Sunday, 13 November 2011. Seen from the portico of the National Gallery, Nelson's column was one of the first structures to be photographed, by Henry Fox Talbot, when under construction in 1841. The statue is in two pieces and was raised into place in November 1843. Each section of the drum of the column is made of seven pieces of granite: a core and six pieces radiating from it, held in place by slate dowels. Posted by Dylan William. http://trewilliam.blogspot.com/2012/01/in-lee-valley.html
Thursday, 19 January 2012. In the Lee Valley. The Valley of the River Lee or Lea runs north from the River Thames on the east side of London and will soon become the focus of worlds' attention as the location of the Olympics. The Lower Lee Valley is now home to the Olympic Park. Large parts of the valley are nothing to do with the Park and its work. The River Lee and its valley has played an important role in the political affairs of England. In 886 the boundary between the Saxon monarchies of Wessex...

http://trewilliam.blogspot.com/2012/01/hampstead-heath.html
Tuesday, 10 January 2012. Welcome to the Heath; 'No, I don't get up here anything like often enough either. Mind you, I was here in time to pick some sloes for sloe gin, so that must have been early September - everything was early this year, that worked out okay made three litres for Christmas, and now I'm on my way up to Kenwood House. Hello, what do we have here? It was a video shoot, the singer miming to the accompaniment of the cello. Posted by Dylan William. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
