Did you know that they chew leaves called "qat" in Yemen, everyday, for several hours a day? I had no idea until I stumbled across this. We went in April with Charlie's sister and her husband and we had an absolute blast! We hiked into the canyon and stayed two nights, which is a perfect amount of time to see all of the beauty the canyon has to offer. So as most of you know, Charlie and I had the opportunity to spend Christmas and the New Year in Costa Rica with my family. It was absolutely amazing! Bats and every giant insect created! Christmas was very untraditional. We went zip lining through the jungle. One cable was over 2500 feet long and 200 feet above the ground! Enough at night to see lava flowing down the mountain! Thursday, June 19, 2014. The kids had a great year of preschool. They learned a lot and are ready for Kindergarten (even if Mom is not ready). We love Mrs. Hansen and the only reason we didn’t cry a lot is because she is our new primary president. The kids still get to spend time with her on Sundays. Charlie and I have been really busy this summer with school. It has been a lot of hard work but we are looking forward to the two weeks in August we have off together! Welcome to the fabulous life of Charlie and Mel! Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Well I finally did it! I graduated from ASU last Friday and it feels awesome! I thought this day would never come but it finally did and I'm excited to start a new chapter of my life. The weekend was so much fun and it was great having all of my family here. The ceremony was very nice and Hugh Downs from sixty minutes was one of the speakers! The student speaker was a transvestite, who had a great message but I was a little surprised!
