Boxing Day | Victorian Christmastide
https://victorianchristmastide.wordpress.com/2011/12/26/boxing-day
In Good King Wenceslas. Asymp; Leave a comment. Boxing Day is celebrated on 26th December annually, well not so much celebrated as remembered. Under Queen Victoria it was brought up to date and became a time for the wealthy to show their generosity by way of gifts to those of the poor. Have a blessed Advent. Asymp; Leave a comment. Advent starts today, the run up to Christmas has begun (not the disgraceful capitalist one, that started in August when I spied the first Xmas advert). I spent this evening at my local church enjoying an advent carols by candle lightit has been part of my churches year since 1888 at least, and probably well before! Larr; Previous post. Next post →. Mulled Wine for Xmas | Victorian Christmastide

Mulled Wine for Xmas. Asymp; Leave a comment. Peel large sections of peel from your clementines, lemon and lime using a speed peeler. Put the sugar in a large saucepan over a medium heat, add the pieces of peel and squeeze in the clementine juice. Add the cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaves and about 10 to 12 gratings of nutmeg. Throw in your halved vanilla pod and stir in just enough red wine to cover the sugar. My only tip is to half the sugar. Larr; Previous post. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Celebrate Christmastime with a Victorian Christmas Party. Celebrate Christmastime with a Victorian Christmas Party. September 20, 2016.
