In 2001 the Village of Lakefield was amalgamated with Smith Ennismore Township to become the Township of Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield. July 15 – 17, 2016. We invite submissions of prose, either fiction or non-fiction, 500 to 1000 words in length, on a topic of the writer’s choice. In 2011, we introduced a third genre, poetry, to the contest. The length and style of a submitted poem is unrestricted. A gift book is awarded to all eligible entrants. Every entrant receives judges’ comments on their work. The gift books are generously donated by the publishers of the Festival’s guest authors. Introduction to the ebook. Alan and Jane Stewart.
