Imaginary Radio Station: April 2015
http://imaginaryradiostation.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 18, 2015. Leo Kottke - A Shout Toward Noon (1983). One of my favorite releases from one of my favorite fingerpickers. I think this came out on Private Music, a "new age" label that was at the time releasing stuff by everyone from Suzanne Ciani to Yanni. Highlights include his cover of "Little Martha," "The Ice Field" and the beautiful closer "First to Go.". Saturday, April 11, 2015. Isabelle Antena - En Cavale (1986). Total escapist ( en cavale. On the run"), French chanteuse. Heard about...

Imaginary Radio Station: October 2014
http://imaginaryradiostation.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 23, 2014. Robert Palmer - Clues (Island, 1980). Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I'm back. For how long? I've got this one for you. Still going through it, I basically picked this up because 1.) Compass Point Studios and 2.) Todd Terje's killer cover of "Johnny and Mary" with Bryan Ferry was burning up my iPod so bad I had to check out the original, and it's still kicking my ass. Here's Todd Terje's rendition of that song I keep talking about:. And the original video, complete with mime dancing:.

Imaginary Radio Station: Inga Humpe - Planet Oz (1990)
http://imaginaryradiostation.blogspot.com/2015/04/inga-humpe-planet-oz-1990.html
Sunday, April 5, 2015. Inga Humpe - Planet Oz (1990). I first encountered the Humpe sisters, Annette and Inga, via the excellent Dustin Wong/Takako Minekawa mix over at Portals. By the way, if you haven't checked out their collaborations out on thrill jockey, do yourself a favor and do so). Apparently, "Yama-Ha" is a pretty well-known track, and what's not to like about two German ladies singing Japanese product names over some pretty inventive pop production? Imaginary Radio Station: March 2015
http://imaginaryradiostation.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. I've gotten a lot of requests for re-ups (apparently a lot of my adrive lnks are dead). All in due time. if I can just find the .zip files in my incredibly disorganized web of hard drives. Seesselberg - Synthetik 1 (Self-released, 1973). And I'm ready to jump back in. That grid of knobs should tell you something about this one (if you haven't heard it yet, I have a feeling this one's made its rounds). I heard about it from this fun little article. Saturday, April 4, 2015. Friends of Earth - Sex, Energy and Star (Non-Standard, 1986). This one seemed too fun not to share right away. The Godfather of Soul and genre-hopping whiz dude Haruomi Hosono, together at last with F.o.E! November 23, 2016 at 9:49 PM. Thanks a lot internet pale! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Imaginary Radio Station: December 2013
http://imaginaryradiostation.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 15, 2013. Youtubin': The KLF - "White Room" Movie. It's 1:34 AM eternal. Thursday, December 5, 2013. Steve Reich w/ Kronos Quartet and Pat Metheny - Different Trains / Electric Counterpoint (Nonesuch, 1989). These scans of the CD booklet tell the story of "Different Trains" best ( here. S a link to all the scans someone generously posted on discogs) :. I like the idea of the piece incipient and brewing in Reich's mind as a child making cross-country trips on trains. I Feel The Echo.

Imaginary Radio Station: Ghostwriters - Objects In Mirrors Are Closer Than They Appear (1981)
http://imaginaryradiostation.blogspot.com/2015/04/ghostwriters-objects-in-mirrors-are.html
Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Ghostwriters - Objects In Mirrors Are Closer Than They Appear (1981). Heard about this duo when "Swizzle" was featured on Jason Urick's excellently curated Fly Room mix. Swizzle" is a great example of what these guys were able to do: make totally locked-in yet exploratory, funky. Melodic music using modular synths (I believe Charles Cohen is a Buchla man). This is arpeggiated music that doesn't feel repetitive; there's a new idea, a shift around every corner. I Feel The Echo.
