Monday, January 7, 2008. Have any of you ever been close to death? That was a very thourough summary of this book, it gave a very good overall picture of the main events of the story. Some parts of the story were soo sad I almost cried. Did you connect with the story at all because I sure didn't, i really didn't like this book, Did you? January 15, 2008 at 11:26 AM. Monday, January 7, 2008. This book kind of reminded me of like, a superhero movie or something. It really covers a lot of themes. But other times during the book its like “I WANT TO KILL MYSELF¨ and then other parts are all snow Whitish like, ”LETS SING WITH THE ANIMALS! 8226; Lion’s crappy apartment; the fact that his parents died; and he’s really easily bothered by things, and those things make him do rash things which end in him in trouble. Monday, January 7, 2008. I think that the author’s ideas were very clear, and he had very good themes. He talked a lot about racism, abuse, and other issues that effect people in the world. Crutcher also, throughout the book, tried to describe the way the character’s felt about each topic.
