At this moment I’m in Lapland at 67 57.5. Northern light over Muonio. First time on ski :P. View from Olos on a cloudy day. Lavuu in in the night. Sunrise of just a few degrees over the horizon. Some artificial snow to build things with. Installing a pump with -20. Making tables with ice. So what is it, Kaamos? Google polar night ;-).

The preparations for me mean mostly thoughts about gear and food. We will go on a hike for 7 days (last week september) in a wilderness area close to National Park Paanajärvi, Russia. One big adventure that is basically what it was. On April 4 we headed North with a group of 9 wilderness guide students. All prepared, motivated, slightly nervous and packed with loads of food. No survival, just going solo for 9 days on ski’s in Finnish winter wilderness. Practice FA at school. DAY ONE: total misery. DAY TWO: first sunshine.

Great group picture :P. We reached the starting point of our hike in Paanajärvi National Park. In the beginning of tuesday evening. From there we left civilization behind us, away from any road or path. Finding our way with map and compass was the way to go. First set-up (not proud of haha). Sunrise with -2 degrees.

Last week the time finally came, time for a new ‘expedition’! Gear wise the aim was to practice skiing and pulling a pulka, where-ever needed!
