Winery of the Week. Wine of the Week. Winery of the Week: Domaine Martin Schaetzel. August 10, 2015. Located in Alsace’s Haut-Rhin, Domaine Martin Schaetzel. Cultivates most of its 30 acres of vines on the hillsides near Ammerschwihr and the nearby Grand Crus sites of Kaefferkopf, Rangen de Thann, Schlossberg and Mackrain. To make a study of Alsace’s terroir, Jean produces different bottlings from the same vineyard site, expressing the mosaic of soils that exist right next to each other.
