Working on Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6), and can summarize the process as follows. I had mercurial working on the linux box, so I cloned the latest development version, and simply copied the files to the Mac (Did I mention I was a bit pressed for time? Might have been better to clone it on the Mac the first time, I suspect this will come back to haunt me.

I got this from a rss feed, I cannot remember which one, so my apologies to that blogger. If you fing yourselve iterating through a large range, use xrange instead of range. range, by default, creates a list of items in memory, whereas xrange does not.
