Sunday, July 20, 2008. Layout Progress as of 7/20/2008. This week I began building the wall brackets for the around-the-wall shelf sections of the track plan. I must give credit to Bruce Faulkner and his CSX Shenandoah Division n-scale layout. Upon which the basic design of my benchwork is based. Looking at Brian's benchwork construction progress photos on his website really convinced me that the ideas bouncing around in my head might actually work. Thanks, Brian! Aside from determining whether or not the general layout shape (narrow, long, multi-level around-the-wall shelves) would work in the layout room, I had two specific goals: (1) determine the height of each of the three decks and (2) determine the depth of the shelves.
