X1s leading the way just after the start - Photo: Lord Paul. 95 boats in an exciting 56 miles of racing on the Norfolk Broads. Two X1s entered and, despite taking slightly different courses, ended up 34 seconds apart, 3rd and 4th in the leading pack of six (4 Norfolk punts and the X1s) which finished after about eight and a half hours. There was then a 10 hour gap before the next boats started to arrive! See more from Yachts and Yaching write up. Tel: 44 7966 155 750.

X Dinghies - Yachts and Yachting Award

Yachts and Yachting Award. We were very pleased to discover the X1 was the runner up in the Yachts and Yachting Dinghy of the Year Award in the February 2012 edition. The Concept behind the X1 was genuinely different - a boat for river sailing, where a relatively large sail area and tall rig helps power the boat through wind shadows caused by trees and buildings. We found it a joy to sail on coastal waters as well as inland. Tel: 44 7966 155 750.

Rheinwoche 2011 and 2012. We had the great pleasure of participating in Rheinwoche 2011 held at Yacht-Club Rhein-Mosel in Koblenz, Germany in June 2011, where the X1 won the Blue Riband Prize for being the fastest boat on elapsed time over the three days of sailing. Below is a translation of the www.rheinwoche.org. Report (Many thanks to Catriona for this). There is a report on the London Corinthian Sailing Club website too - London Corinthian Sailing Club Sailors win the Blaue Band der Rheinwoche. Despi...

X Dinghies - FAQs
http://www.xdinghies.com/faq
Are the X0 and X1 very complicated boats to sail - are they very technical? How comfortable are they? What crew weight can they take? How tippy or 'hairy' are they. How easy are they to right after a capsize, and is the centreboard easy to reach when the boat is on its side? You say it’s self-draining: is that completely self-draining? So the X0/X1 is an inland boat - does this mean it should never be sailed on the sea? How easy will it be to maintain? How easy is it to depower when the wind picks up?

X Dinghies - Description
http://www.xdinghies.com/description
Why would an inland dinghy be different to one that sails mostly on the sea? In addition to these core design objectives and to ensure that the X0 and X1 are accessible to as wide a range of sailors as possible, we've insisted on keeping them modern and simple, which means:. Strict one designs - all boats of each design are the same. Use of the best lightweight materials to reduce weight - faster to sail, easier to move around on land, long lasting and easy to maintain.
